Replying To endgame:  "McStay and Cunningham each won a Connacht title both away from home. I never looked for McStay to go but Mayo fans want him gone now. Cunningham's time had run its course and that happens. Great Connacht title though with him in 2019 beating both Mayo and the Tribe away from home for the first time since 1972. Burke has achieved nothing in three years and I think most Roscommon fans would like to see a change of Manager. Do you lover want to see Davy's term extended and if so for how long.
As for McGeeney , Ulster's a tough province. Armagh were patient with him and It paid off. I don't expect Roscommon to be All Ireland champions in five years if Burke is still in charge ."
I highly doubt you never looked for McStay to go when in his final year with Roscommon got some awful hammerings and got into a habit of conceding 4-24 in games how much would be conceded with the new rules nowadays. McStay was given a 4 year term with Mayo and it will likely end at three should they not reach the last 8 at least this summer.

To say Burke achieved nothing is not true, Finished 3rd in Div 1 and promoted back to Div 1 now. In the championship beat Mayo in MacHale Park and drew with Dublin in Croke Park who went on to win the All Ireland after that match and beat Tyrone in Omagh to reach the last 8 of the championship,

Doesn't matter what I want to see but I'd expect his term will be extended for a year or two should Roscommon reach the last eight again and so long as he wants to stay on himself.

It took McGeeney 10 years managing Armagh before they won Sam last summer. Year 9 and 8 it was Quarter final exits to Monaghan,Galway on penalties. Yes Ulster is a tough province but Armagh was knocked out by Cavan,Down hardly world beaters the Donegal side that beat them got beaten by Monaghan and then well beaten by Mayo. Burke will be gone eventually how long will his replacement get another 2 or 3 years before your patience runs out with him also?

The sign of a team wanting to win a game is the willingness to put their body in to win dirty ball and a few of our players are not doing it so far , maybe they are waiting for certain games or they are coached not to give away frees and risk picking up yellow cards Dont know what the story with doyle is , we were doing ok in midfield against monaghan and kerry until he was taken off very early in second half, i would like to see him stay as one of the three up front sometimes and let the other forwards take turns helping defend and hopefully he might last full game , looking forward to the hyde and i hope to see everybody who supports rosscommon to be there no giving out, get behind the team they deserve our support and hopefully they will get that win to kick start their season

We don't seem to be fit enough
We have no obvious game plan
We look disorganised on the pitch
10 games in and we still seem to be trying out players
We seem to be still at oul slow pre 2025 football and have no tactics for the new rules.
Our backroom teams/coaches etc seem to only last only 1 season.

I'm hoping against hope that it's all part of a cunning plan, that we'll unleash our new system with fire in bellies and blow Meath back to Navan as we hit the high road for an all out onslaught on Sam.

I wish......

McStay won a Connacht title with Roscommon against Galway in Salthill. It's always great to win a Connacht title. We haven't won one for 6 years. I was in Croke Park for the replay hammering against Mayo in August 2017 and it was not a good day for sure. You're in a small minority of Roscommon supporters in thinking Davy Burke has been a success as Roscommon manager. I don't know a single Roscommon supporter who's happy with Burke. I'll repeat my question to you Lover. How many more years would you give Davy as Roscommon Manager.?

Armagh have to be admired for sticking with McGeeney. The difference whether fair or not is McGeeney had much more currency in the bank being an Armagh all Ireland winning captain. He was Armagh through and through. He was also loved by Kildare players and subsequently Armagh players. I think Davy Burke is a genuine guy and seems like a nice fella but can he carry players and a county with him like that.

If only you had someone high up in croke park dealing with fixtures

My take is a neutral point of view. You said there is no case for Burke's tenure to be extended I gave a case.

Thanks for the input my Leitrim friend. One voice among 10 members and then you have lower level hurling that is always the poor relation. They opted for Fermanagh v Wexford on the Sunday in Croke Park instead.

His term won't be extended if they reach last 8 and I guarantee you that because we will be down a lot of players if it is.

It's hard to know what to expect now from a team selection. We will need the Keith Doyle starting. Louth were very physical and agressive and we will need to find that from somewhere or it'll be a home defeat. There are goals to be got against Meath if we can get our atatck up and running. Is there anything to be said that Roscommon are holding something back/hoping to peak at the end of the group stage? We need some chink of light here! Or another mass!

To be pedantic you can't "guarantee" it.
However you can have an educated guess that will happen and I'd say you'd be fairly correct.

For now it's all about the Meath game.

Few guarantees in sport. From what I have seen of Roscommon this year they do not have the look of a team on or off the field of one that's going to reach the last eight however if they do they'll be a lot of building, bonding together hugs and slaps on the back between players and management. Things can change very quickly last year it took that win against Cavan and at the time it was brushed off as only Cavan but only Cavan went to MacHale Park last Sunday and won. Cork and Meath games the big ones for the rosssies, win one of them and see where it takes you afterwards.

I can't understand how we got our best player availability in years this year for it to go so pear shaped.
