But Cork should be more competitive in the football."
Cork are a disgrace. They have population and want for nothing and should be doing better. One of my best buddies is a Kerryman and he says Kerry want a strong Cork although they hate losing to Cork. The Munster football championship is not fit for purpose.

No current underage success for Dublin either.
Definitely not a rest year. No kit-kat involved here....

Leinster and Munster football championship in the next few years will be like chalk and cheese.

It is very hard for Tipp, Limerick, Clare, Waterford to be competitive in football.
Like Kilkenny.
But imo Cork should be closer to Kerry on a more regular basis.

It is not Kerry's fault they are in a hurling province.
But expect their domination to continue down there for the foreseeable....."
I disagree with you here.

IMO if Dublin meet Meath again they will beat them by 10+, probably more as they will want to send out a statement

They would more than likely do the exact same if they played ourselves this season in the knockout rounds

Exactly - it actually does Kerry no favours, with Cork generally being so poor, by comparison.

Yep, it looks that way unfortunately.

If Cork v Kerry was the Munster final there would be less complaining. It would have been another cracking provincial final. Clare would be in the Tailteann Cup. Offaly would be in the All Ireland championship. Nearly everyone would be happy!

Thats Harsh and not true.Football is huge in west Cork but Hurling is the number one sport in the county.
The problem lies more with the supporters. There are a hard crew of football supporters and the band wagon ones. The hurling get huge support but the footballers only get it when they going well and look lkie winning cups.

Its semoralising for the players.Michael Shiels commented on same years back saying when Cork footballers were in a couple of All Ireland finals in 09 and 10 ticket demand was crazy but a few months later only a few hundred at a league game.Only a couple of months ago there was a double header in PUC and when the hurling was over the majority of Cork fans left as the footballers took to the field.

Its hard for the footballers but they are looked after well by the county board. Kilkenny have zero interest in playing foitball and are the only county not to field a team in the national leagues.

Finally Cork have won an All Ireland in football more recent than the hurlers and are still a top 12 team.

Now I agree the Munster championship is only a two horse race with Kerry ahead but Cork as a rule cause Kerry big problems.

Silly comment seeing they could and should have beaten Kerry in the Munster semifinal… Cork have a huge sporting population that play Gaelic football, Hurling, Soccer and Rugby at the top levels in Ireland…

Games in Round 3 and possible neutral venues? I know so talk of Croke Park used as Dublin header but let's say it isn't.

Mayo v Donegal - Carrick on Shannon or Hyde Park
Cavan v Tyrone - Clones or Brewster Park
Kerry v Meath - Portlaoise or Thurles
Roscommon v Cork- Portlaoise or Ennis
Monaghan v Down - Armagh or Omagh
Louth v Clare - Tullamore or Mullingar
Galway v Armagh - Carrick on Shannon or Breffni Park
Dublin v Derry - Clones or Breffni Park

We have to remember half of Clare is all football too in land mass anyways maybe not population.

I'd say they near have as many football clubs as hurling too with majority football only. Right few dual clubs in the centre of Clare though.

I heard Breffni Park mentioned as the likely neutral venue for Donegal v Mayo, if it is likely to be a big crowd.

Carrick on Shannon is probably too small for the number of Season ticket holders from each County, and Dr Hyde Park is located too far south for it to be a good neutral venue for both.

Derry v Dublin - Id have thought Armagh is the likely venue, near the M1 and currently the largest capacity in Ulster since the recent downgrading of ground capacities.

Carrick can hold around 13k.
ST are limited to 3.5k?
