Replying To ForeverBlue2:  "This sort of result has been coming for a while for Dublin… Their under age results for the last 6/7 years have been very poor.. I didn't expect such a poor performance on Sunday but a lot of those Dublin players on show wouldn't get near some of the other teams competing for Sam… Dublin have gone from being one of the top scoring team in the country to one of the lowest over night… I don't think the new rules are sitting too well with them.. When they are forced into kicking the ball out long they seem to struggle big time and this was always a problem even in their hay days when a Mayo or Kerry pushed up on them…. They will still be a tough nut to crack in the Championship but making a semifinal will be as good as it will be and even that will depend on a favourable draw…"
You are spot on...!

Hard to disagree with any of that! Is the lack of kicking and constant lateral stuff also down to tactical instruction? Surely any of the middle 8 lets say should be able to deliver decent long balls into an inside forward line..

I think we are carrying easily half a dozen lads who were involved the last day that are just not at that level. Some may prove me wrong but with the new rules we are just not going to get away with a midfield pairing like on Sunday. Dessie is going to have the shuffle the deck to get some quality in there.

Any news on injuries at all? Murchan, Gannon? Both of them would make a serious difference alone and obviously Bugler. Part of me wonders does this result wake the whole lot of them up and will we be better off long term as opposed to sleepwalking into a quarter final and having it happen then. Another part of me looks at the next round of potential games and doesn't fill me with any sort of confidence to progress further.

First/second seeds: Clare/Kerry; Galway/Mayo; Armagh/Donegal; Louth/Meath.

Third seeds: Dublin, Monaghan, Roscommon, Tyrone.

Four seeds: Cavan, Cork, Derry, Down.

Even in our depleted state id love a crack at Kerry in Killarney on a Sunny afternoon.

I really cant see Clucko staying on after this Summer.

Murch, Murphy and McMahon should slot right back in.
Unfortunately, I cant see Lee togging out for us again this season.
Terrible recurrence of that injury.

Up front Luke & Bugler will be back.

Thinking of the midfield - we really have a problem here.
Tom is just ok but perhaps Duffy will come in now to join him, or move CK out.
Madden is not ready yet imo. Neither is Ethan.

Cant believe there isnt a good strong athletic ball winning midfielder in the county.
We are crying out for one.
The 2 aforementioned guys are a couple of years away from being at the level we need.

As I posted months ago - Fento was a game changer for us in a bad way, and only 31.

Were was our plan B....??? There were rumours of him retiring, months before he announced it.

It is tick tock for Dessie I reckon.

That would be proper way to go, or not!, rather than get knocked out by 3rd or 4th seed.

They will go down with their boots on. Can ask nó more than that.

That would be some occasion User.I know im biased but a big game in Killarney on a sunny day is bliss. The Cork fans love Killarney. The pitch is so close to the pubs its magic.A huge tourist town, music in the pubs and people drinking on the streets soaking up the athmosphere.I ve had glorious days days v Cork and indeed Mayo and Tyrone aswell as great Munster hurling games. It would be the icing on the cake for a Dubs v Kerry Killarney show in the Sun.The town would be rocking and the stadium would be some craic tool.

You really are a glutton for punishment..... ;o)

And they would love nothing better than to put the final nail in the coffin of the remaining Dublin greats.....

I think a more fitting ending would be v Mayo tbh.

Dessie should experiment now - this season is a write off with no silverware in the pipeline.

Clucko as you like to call him shouldn't be anywhere near the team… Farrell has shown his weakness by not having a proper keeper in place at this stage.. No team can afford to accommodate a 42/3 year old in their side in this day and age… Stephen Cluxton WAS a great goalkeeper but those days are long gone and with these new rules he has really struggled
