In fairness the lads gave it a good rattle today but Offaly gradually got on top after our great start and the goal on the stroke of half time was a killer. In the second half despite our lads best efforts Offaly were able to keep us at arms length. Hopefully we can get two more strong performances to finish out the league but unfortunately it looks like we'll lose all seven games. Honeyman, Cox and Guckian were our best players on show yesterday. Conor Quinn had some really good catches but physically he can't sustain it for a long period and not near a full game. Hopefully now with S&C he will improve further. Our U20 players are really standing out which is good for the future - but theyve all been earmarked to make an impact for years. Worryingly I'm not seeing any of the 'new players' who have been drafted in this year making an impact or coming to terms with the higher level of football they are at. Not sure if thats a poor reflection on the coaching they are receiving or if they are just not able for it. On a separate note (hopefully the Admin won't cut this) The county board need to really cut out the nonsense with the posts on our social media pages from a fan (who is obviously a great reflection of our support) but I'm not sure why his opinions are being broadcast ahead of everyone elses. Does anyone know how our u20 players will fair in the Connacht championship? Will they be released by the senior squad to play? We play Fermanagh on March 16th and Sligo on March 23rd I think and first Connacht Championship game is on March 19th. First round of senior champ is April 19th. Half our senior squad is u20.
