Replying To Dheen:  "The bulk of the Offaly team is KK and they dominate in Offaly. Castletown went toe to toe with them right into injury time and could have won. Despite like I've already mentioned O'Reilly and the players already away. I have to give credit to Lough Lene Gaels who have injected a new lease of life into the Senior championship in Westmeath, there's 4 strong teams that are contenders, improving the standard. Which helps whatever team comes out of the county then into Leinster. I know Fr Daltons went up this year to Senior A but over the next couple of years I reckon Plunketts are going to show themselves as the 5th contender. Great work at underage. Westmeath hurling is in a decent place with plenty to build on. Let's hope Bulfin gets all the top players available into the county set up for the upcoming season."
If everyone is on the same wavelength as you we will have a good 2025 which will get better in years to come with the underage talent. We need all the experinced players in CTG,LLG,Raharney and Clonkill who are having their doubts. If the big majority commit Westmeath is actually in a better place than Offaly and Laois. So let us hope the players see it as we do!

CTG can hold their heads high on a great performance Thought Conor murphy really took the game on in the first half and the injury to O reilly was tough for castletown when needing them scores at the end. Hopefully can build on this and come back stronger next year.

Priority for Castletown is to qualify for Leinster next year, not a given as Westmeath championship is very competitive, Castletown have a few potential starters and subs who have emigrated, Conor Kane, Cormac Jackson, David Lynch, Naoise McKenna, Conor Lynch, Plunkett Maxwell, five of those in recent months so unlikely to feature in next year's campaign, they would give good options off the bench, Mick Heeney when fully recovered from injury and Sean Jackson would boost the squad and Neale Pierson is eligible next year and a fine versatile hurler. Their under 20s chances in semi final suffered a major blow with David O' Reilly's injury.

Neale Pierson has been very good for Westmeath schools this year. Any further on these trial games? I believe Bulfin has asked lads in directly alongside this. I didn't make the trial game last week did anyone go and have feedback? Dean Ennis was one name who could make the cut, excellent underage talent.
