Replying To Tiger1:  "Always optimistic viking I'll give you that but to say all the problems from last year have been addressed before a ball has been hit in anger?Let's not get carried away yet lads and fall into the same trap as every other year."
If you can't be optimistic in January I don't know what you're after.

We were very disorganized and the season was poorly planned.

So far, Rossi seems Very organised. He's mixing up the play, and willing to allow lads proper recovery time.

This is all very positive.

I get the point though, the real indicator Will be Leinster round robin games.

I didn't say they have been addressed but that they are being addressed. The reason I was unsure exactly who was playing in Ferns was that I wasn't particularly looking. I was more interested in the shape of the team, where lads were running especially the overlapping and link up play, where and what way space was or was being made on the pitch, how fast the keeper or maybe keepers were pucking out the ball and where on the pitch he was pucking it, what way were these being mixed up and what shape we were in before he hit them, where lads were breaking just before he hit the long ones etc. Last year you only had to watch around 5 minutes of any of the games to see pretty much everything we had up our sleeves, or at least what we actually used in a game. There were numerous things being tried Sunday, some seemed to work quite well, others not so well. The reason I said "being addressed" rather than "have been addressed" is that I haven't a clue how all that will pan out in a competitive game, or even if we will use half of it.
Likewise we have a sports psychologist on board and active, but again, like you said, how good he actually is or what difference he will make we won't know until at least the League.
Also we won't know how fit the lads are til we get into the second half of a championship game and see what the shooting and decision making looks like, although several of the established panel members reckon its a step up from the last 2 years, not as "easy".
The lads are being asked how they are, any niggles etc, after every training session, and injury prevention seems to be actively being addressed. When tied in with better fitness levels hopefully we don't have as many lads missing for as many weeks as was the case last year, obviously luck or lack of it can play a big part in that.
I'm not sure how his in game management will be, as we haven't had any competitive games yet, but it did in general improve over the course of the 10 or 12 u20 games I went to when he was managing them.
I know I'm a born optimist, and there are some very good reasons in my previous life experience for being that way, but I don't see at this stage how Keith and his team could be any more thorough tbh.
All the above will be completely irrelevant if in 3 years time we look back on his term as being one of underachievement, it is a results business at the end of the day.

Replying To Viking66:  "Would it be a bonus really though especially in Paudies case? A 6 week break is nothing like a 2 year break when it comes to the speed and intensity of Senior Intercounty. It would be asking alot of him to be even remotely up to speed after being away so long."
I'd agree but if it was possible at all you'd prefer him on board rather than not, just for clarity I'd be very surprised if he was involved at any stage this year.

2-12 to 0-05 at halftime. Kilkenny have a strong enough team out. No TT or OLG lads, and no Eoin Cody, Mullen or Reids x2.

Oylegate must have 7 or so lads on the county panel. Can see this benefitting them big time come the club championship. Wouldn't be surprised if they went one step further than last year. Duggan, 2 Recks, 2 Casey's, Rowley, Mike Kelly'

Any word on Liam Ryan's current status? Don't think I saw him in the video and didn't hear his name either

Yeah 6 of those are in the panel at the moment and Sean Rowley has 2 more years at u20, think there losing Jack Reck as he's heading to Australia. Holding onto Des Mythen is a big boost for them too.

I imagine Rowley will be with the u20s this year?

They aren't. But we are playing Carlow next, then Kilkenny if we beat Carlow. Ended up 5-22 to 0-09. Kilkenny finished up with alot of their u20s from last year and some fringe players who did well for their clubs.

Read on rte.ie Billy Ryan was the only player off the all ireland starting 15 so Carlow must have been very poor.

Carlows shooting was terrible especially. Alot of that Kilkenny starting 15 are unavailable currently. Kenny went off tonight with what looked like a hamstring and Keoghan came on for him. David Blanchfield started tonight he started against Clare in the AISF. Liam Blanchfield started tonight he was away travelling last year. Darragh Corcoran has also played Senior championship for Kilkenny.

Down to play Carlow 1.30 on Sunday in the park, good bit of cold weather forecast for the week so hopefully frost isn't a factor.

With the East wind coming in over the sea I think the Park should be fine. Fingers crossed!

Yes. Captained Peters the other day too. Played in Gorey too. Will be a very important player for our u20s though.
