Replying To HB245:  "Surely you realise I'm talking about Clontibret playing Inniskeen in the semi final…?"

Replying To countymonaghan:  "Don't think he picked up on that. Was wondering what he meant myself.

Inniskeen have been in some form this year. Have been very impressive, and they have beaten Clontibret twice this year. This could be used as motivation for Clontibret. They will have to improve from Saturday night in Blayney if they want to bring it to Inniskeen.

As for Scotstown v Corduff I really do not know what to expect here. Corduff play a very defensive game but Scotstown are probably the best team to rbeak this down. They have solid players all round so Corduff have a lot of danger men to watch as well as getting well set up. Really looking forward to Bantys approach, match ups, tactics.

Hopefully its a decent day weather wise and the 4 teams show up with their strongest hand. Should be a big crowd attending I would imagine."
I have picked up on it actually, everyone on here has iniskeen as certs to win it.. the mayo of monaghan football, the same this last 4 years with them over hyped

Replying To countymonaghan:  "Was at both Senior quarter finals over the weekend. Both very different games.

Latton v Clontibret
Played in blayney in awful weather. Wind and rain was very bad. Pitch in very bad looking condition. Big areas?holes of missing grass, no lines on the pitch. Hard to know how they actually get games. Much rather travel to Inniskeen or somewhere else. As for the football it wasn't much better. Very slow defensive game. Clontibret probably marginally the better team but Latton had their chances and could of got something from it, McGuigan and Lavelle were good for Clontibret, Gormley intercepted a lot of play also. Mulligan and Duffys good for Latton. Latton seemed to be missing a few (Coyle, McCabe, Connolly). Clontibret played around alot in their own half which could of cost them.

Scotstown v Aughnamullen
Played on a super day, weather was brilliant and was in Clontibret (massive bonus) with a massive crowd and good atmosphere. Pitch freshly mowed probably Saturday and lined out. Place never fails to surprise me when attending games there. New boundary fence since I was last there which is brilliant for supporters, loads of volunteers parking cars, making tea and coffee, running the two shops, noticed they have a social club which opens also. Everyone seems to be rowing in the one direction in the club and makes going to games a pleasure. As for the game was a little exciting for 40 mins maybe. Aughnamullen stayed with them but could not get within touching distance. Aughnamullen dropped a lot of balls into Beggans hands too. Scotstown probably stuck in 3rd/4th gear so IMO they have more to offer. Aughnamullen looked very fit but I could not get over how cynical Scotstown were. Relentless fouling and no cards, maybe this is smart play by Scotstown but as a neutral was hard to watch. Maguire and Carey got away with several fouls one after another and nothing for it. It slowed Aughnamullen down and they got their defense set up. Refs need to be cuter to this, give 1/2 yellows and they will think twice about the fouling. Scotstown got a lot of easier free in the scoring zone also. Still they were the better team and deserve to be where they are.

The semi finals next Sunday should be two good games. Two very tough games to call. I see Sheehy and Boylan are reffing these two games. Surprised there wasn't some stunt pulled to get more Corduff sided refs. These two refs are good and fair IMO and glad they're getting the games. Really looking forward to these two games and they could literally go anyway.

Anyone make the Intermediate games? I believe Mooney was brilliant for Cremartin. Looking forward to seeing him against Carrcik and what kinda player he grows into in a few years. Shock result seeing Killanny beat the Faughs. Not disappointed though to be honest. Looks like Carricks to lose at this stage but who knows."
Aughnamullen put up a decent fight but never really looked like beating Scotstown. They have a lot of young players and so they could emerge as challengers over the next couple of years.

Who is monaghan lad calling Inniskeen the mayo of monaghan football ,how on Earth can he justify this ,they haven't progressed to final in 33 years and when they have reached most finals ,they have stood up and have been victorious and they where 1st monaghan club to win All football club title ,maybe this year they might push on to the final ,they won't go down to easy and hopefully this year we will see a great semi final with fair refereeing for both sides.not just county players being looked after.

Well I wrote the post you replied to, asking if Clontibret will have enough to stop Inniskeen in the semi… and I think Scotstown will win this championship in cruise control. Before a ball was kicked in any club football championship in the country, the bookies had Scotstown and Glen as the two shortest priced favourites to win their respective championships in the whole country. Scotstown are 16/1 to win the Ulster club… Inniskeen are 80/1. Nice try, but Inniskeen certainly aren't even close to favourites.

Who are the county players you speak off that are being looked after. Been to enough games this year and have saw county players/ ex county players get destroyed and the referee gave them nothing. Ryan Wylie and Jap against Corduff for example. They got targeted every time and not in a fair way.

Also Killian Lavelle against Inniskeen was targeted. Hit late, fouled, dragged and he finally lost the temper and got the line. Woods got away with murder that day. Maybe this was a tactic from Inniskeen and fair enough. So in my opinion this is not county players being looked after as u stated.

I don't believe Inniskeen can be compared to Mayo. They haven't been near as successful at the top level yet. Yes they have won an All Ireland at Intermediate but never pushed on. But as I have said before they are looking good and will be hard beat for Clontibret on Sunday.

You mustn't look to hard at games ,killian lavelle was clipping and hitting constantly in that Inniskeen game and should have gone sooner and he at the very same in donaghmoyne game they think there above everyone, same with scotstown boys especially Hughes brothers constantly hitting off the ball and getting away with it ,corduff will sort them out Sunday, just looking for fair play .

And you are looking to Corduff to play fair? There is a good start. They are the team who has been involved with most of the controversy throughout the Championship.
That Ballybay game which I mentioned they got away with murder. Ryan Wylie was hit three times late (black card offences) and the final time resulted in just a yellow card, Jap got took clean out of it in the second half after he played the ball and a yellow card. Why bother having the black? In the last play of the game they dragged a Ballybay player down and he got the ball away to another bbay player but the ref called it back no advantage played. This would of won ballybay the game and who knows where they would be now. Corduff know the refs are giving them everything
Against latton a corduff player was caught standing on a player, yellow card play on. So fair this.

You could of picked a lot of players ahead of the Hughes to be fair. They will hit hard but rarely will do it nasty. Scotstown are probably the one team who actually play all out attacking football, but they will be dragged down to Corduffs level sunday and who knows what way it will go

On a site with an Inniskeen man at the minute and it seems to be Harry Monahan and Aiden Wood who both have hamstring injuries.
A loss to Inniskeen but they dont seem to think it will have a massive impact on the team.
They seem to think as long as Andrew Woods, Sean Jones and Ciaran Mc Nulty are fit they will get over the line,

The antics along the sideline during the first semi final in Clones are something to behold.
Officials doing a good job however. No way this will finish with 15 a side if Scotstown stretch the score.
