Get a stand that holds 2,500 people and don't give Navan any money for league games. Otherwise we are a disgrace!

Have county finals of all grades in Darver, LCB will gain a lot of revenue if they do it like that.

I would rather Navan than Portlaoise or Parnell Park lads!

I would rather have all county finals in the D'Hill rather than Darver.

DHill would be a great option for a county ground. Plenty of parking already available around the ground, close to the motorway and the dressing room facilities are top class so money could easily be saved on this front. I wonder is it a viable option that could be considered?

Monaghan have three very good county grounds and an excellent center of excellence. Part of the reason for developing a second county ground in Tyrone could be that the pitch in Healy Park is prone to flooding . You are right . We are light years behind them in every way at every level.

Monaghan are a credit too the GAA. Would love if our county had the same drive and passion as their County Board .
There is a ground in Castleblaney I don't even know if the county use it, Castleblaney Faughs I think they are called... , stand, great lights. Seemed to be a lot of new investment in it. All our surrounding neighbors Armagh, Down, Meath,Cavan and then Louth. Spot the odd one out

Monaghan played Tyrone there this year in the league on a Saturday night under lights . They played Kerry in Inniskeen in the league this year and they played Mayo and Donegal in Clones.. There are also lights in Inniskeen.Cloghan is first class . All this with a population which is half of Louths. In the meantime we have ........

Lads the grass in not always greener especially if you know what you are on about. Tyrone played one of their finals last year in Armagh because they had no pitch capable of holding it, and not because of crowding.
Do Monaghan co board own any of the pitches they use in the county, idont think so.
Of course there are plenty of lovely grounds in Louth including Dowdallshill but it is not big enough to host a senior final.
And ye put the Monaghan training centre ahead of Darver---------Now I know you are not serious.
Wee are heading to PaircTailteann-------Get Used To It

No way GAA will fund development of top class county ground in every county, even within Meath there are huge concerns on how Parc Tailteann redevelopment is going to be funded, As usual the biggest burden will be forced back onto the clubs, Do Meath need 22,000 capacity stadium, at this stage you would have to say no, I have feeling that it is being developed with more than Meath in mind, but the clubs in Meath are being asked to take over the costs of loans owed against the development of Dunganny in order to get this off the ground.

As for Monaghan, Clones is basically Ulster GAA headquarters which helps keep it going, other grounds used belong to clubs which are a credit to them.

Owenbeg in Derry is a fine set up that wouldnt cost the earth and gives good enough capacity for club games and National League fixtures, Could that be done at Darver? Every county should have a Home venue for their County Finals and League Games.

I said already that a probable reason for the development of a second county ground in Tyrone was the fact that the pitch in Healy Park is prone to flooding . I never at any stage said that Cloghan was superior to Darver. I don't understand the point you are making in relation to the three county grounds in Monaghan being owned by the Monaghan county board . The fact is that there are three excellent county grounds in Monaghan plus a first class centre of excellence which has recently been extended . There can be no denying that we as a county lag way behind Monaghan . Anyone who advocates that we agree to ground sharing in Pairc Tailteann is a defeatist and does not have the best interests of Louth football at heart .

I can promise you this, if louth county board pull this out of the hat as the answer to our county ground I will never step foot in pairc Tailtean unless Louth are playing meath and meath are the official home team. No way I can accept that or in Down or Cavan or Armagh.
Where will our kids grow up and dream of playing? Every one dreams of Croker but you also need a place at home, for a bit of pride, will we move our county finals there as well.
If this is the answer it will be the final nail in Louth football

Looks like might be something happening on Ardee link road, around the roundabout heading into Ardee, land there owned by Nama, could be option, would be good venue. Green field the only way in my opinion.

From the horses mouth as they say..The only two options being considered are a joint venture with the Marys or as Redzer says the land just outside the town of Ardee owned by NAMA.
But, this will not happen under the current regime. It will take a Chairperson who has vision and will go for broke and get the county grounds in place.
Remember lads, it was the same when Darver was built, the committee in at that time had the guts to go for it and now we own one of the best centre of excellence's in the country.
It is now back to the clubs to see have they anyone within their ranks that has the vision to finally build a state of the art county grounds. It needs to be near a town for atmosphere and somewhere large crowds can eat and drink before and after games.

This was announced by Drogheda Utd months ago, perhaps prematurely but who knows. The location is supposed to be along the long promised link road in the North of the town that is going to open up a lot of land for housing and schools from what I can remember of the plan. 100's of acres were bought up by developers along the proposed route before the bust. The road will go from the Motorway down to the Baltray Road to take the HGV's going to and from the Port out of the town.
Government are not funding large scale road projects at the moment (as of 6 months ago anyway) so I don't know how LCC are going to pay for the ring road or if this new Stadium is going to need it to be built first.

Ged Nash said on social media yesterday that the venue is behind Aston Village Estate off the Termonfeckin Road (very close to the Newtown Blues ground). The only access I know of would be through the Aston Village Estate at the moment so maybe the link road won't be needed.
