Gaelic grounds development

It's a disgrace and embarrassing when other counties come to Drogheda. No the clubs fault as it is just a club ground. Darver should not have happened until County ground was done or ideally it should have included it in Darver just like Owenbeg.

What similar developments have Louth undertaken that Mullery was interested in talking to Louth about ?

Perhaps Louth are going to move away from their Parnell Park home and back to their other home ground in Navan when it's all done up, it would make loads of sense really.

Front page of the Drogheda independent this week says an announcement due soon on the redevelopment of the Gaelic grounds .

Anyone here of any progress or another false dawn?

There have been rumours circulating that the HSE has looked into purchasing land off Drogheda United and the Gaelic Grounds for redevelopment and expansion plans. Can't be sure what substance there is to this, but at least it would be movement. Sometimes losing an option can be progress, staying in the same place can be what takes over.

People tend to forget that point and it really is one of the main reasons why we shouldn't develop Drogheda. What other counties out there have a ground that the pitch would be the main pitch for a club within the county. Madness.

It's a decade ago that Louth last faced Wicklow in the Championship.

Certainly is Ollie. That was Micko's first season in charge . It was a rollercoaster but we made it convincingly in the end . We got to the last twelve that year and gave Cork their fill of it . And meantime back at the ranch we still have the worst county ground in the country.

Wee sure do Greengrass. Our captain marvel from the great year of 1957 also died a decade ago Dermot O Brien.

Yes Greengrass it's hard to believe that it's ten years ago.
