ok lets have a try and picking the starting 15 for the opener against louth mickcunningham (Westmeath) - Posts: 1903 - 19/01/2017 15:13:17 1947010 Link 0 |
Good team Mick, could see Hollaway at 6, Dolan at wing back and Kieran at 11 with McDaniels or Corrorn in at wing forward. I dont think Cribben will start Denis

I would start some of the lads who did well in the O'Byrne Cup. Bryan in goals, Gaughan in midfield and Luke Loughlin corner forward. It's important to keep things fresh with a few new lads. I can't see Quinn keeping his place this year after a dreadful year in 2016 for the county. Dean McNicholas will probably be tried a few more times in midfield in the league I expect. Are you not playing CARLOW in your 1st league game. Something tells me Louth are in DIV 3!!!!!! fullbach (Carlow) - Posts: 266 - 19/01/2017 17:46:49 1947088 Link 0 |
Indeed, Carlow gave Louth a right game in the last round, I wouldn't be taking anything for granted. However, I think if we to our potential i.e positive attacking football, we should have too much for Carlow. In a separate note, was there any truth in the rumours Mark McCallon was back with the panel? Haven't seen the O'Byrne panel but he's a decent defender. iarmhi_an_mhaith (Westmeath) - Posts: 287 - 19/01/2017 18:18:44 1947104 Link 0 |

Team I would like to see throughout entire league and championship; David Bryan, Killian Daly, Frank Boyle, Kevin Maguire, James Dolan, Alan Stone, Paul Sharry, Alan Gaughan, Denis Coroon, Kelvin Reilly, Dean McNicholas, Kieran Martin, Luke Loughlin, John Heslin, Shane Dempsey. A narrow defeat today for Limerick today after extra time against Kerry. Their u 21s are winning games too. Gonna be a hard fought league. Carlow and Leitrim both seem to putting in an effort this year player commitment wise too. Add in Wexford under Banty. It's all to play for. Sunday Week we have Carlow at home and ok ok i hear you say i taught you were not going to go to any league games. well here is the thing i have a Season Ticket that was bought for me at christmas at a cost of 99 euro so i might as well go to the games. also i hear from the one member my club has on the panel that Cribbin is going all out attack v Carlow so i must say i want to watch that and then i can comment after the game. Anyway feeling a lot better about the season ahead i think it could be a great one and we should have some silverwear at the end of it which is somehting we need as a county. What you think guys Djkray (Dublin) - Posts: 152 - 27/01/2017 23:03:45 1949359 Link 0 |
Doubt it, he dropped himself off the panel last year

Laughing stock if Westmeath don't win out div 4. No two ways about it. Cribben wont make the championship if they don't. He was lucky to survive after the league last year. the21yardline (Westmeath) - Posts: 182 - 31/01/2017 08:26:21 1950428 Link 0 |
