A lot depends on qtr final pairings u could for example see Tyrone knocked out of ulster early building up a head of steam n the qualifiers n knocking out a team like Dublin or mayo in the qtr finals who are only starting to get into gear at that stage of the championship . Tyrone will be in the all ireland final. Mayo have reached the end of the road with this side. lowballplease (Galway) - Posts: 935 - 27/04/2016 13:51:47 1850103 Link 0 |
Mayo are still ahead of Tyrone - I fancy Tyrone to win Ulster and maybe make the semi-final but Mayo have greater quality all over the park. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5240 - 27/04/2016 14:41:51 1850123 Link 0 |

Provincial Championships haven't even started! Maybe we should hold off for a month or 2 before we start trying to predict the AI Final? CroiGorm (Dublin) - Posts: 1547 - 27/04/2016 15:18:50 1850148 Link 0 |
Its not that hard to predict this year Gleebo.I think its fairly safe to say the finalists will come from the following 4 counties, Dublin, Kerry, Mayo or Tyrone.Right now Dublin v Mayo seems most likely. Condorman (Dublin) - Posts: 983 - 27/04/2016 15:38:53 1850155 Link 0 |
Tyrone are a potential banana skin for later in the championship and with one of the best managers in the game, I'm sure they'll be tactically set up very well to take on any opponent. That being said, this team still have prove they can actually beat Kerry/Dublin/Mayo. They came close last year against Kerry and perhaps that little bit of inexperience held them back, but they'll know better for next time. I think they could be a tough enough prospect in this championship. ZeitChrist (UK) - Posts: 154 - 27/04/2016 15:42:49 1850160 Link 0 |

Not a ball kicked in the Championship yet but what the hell I can't see Mayo in the final this year. downredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 567 - 27/04/2016 16:12:13 1850177 Link 0 |
Mayo imo will be in this years final, that's just my honest opinion. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 27/04/2016 16:54:01 1850191 Link 0 |
Anything can happen in championship. We should be hanging around at the business end of the championship but after that nothing is a foregone conclusion. The only thing that is certain is Dublin will be in a semi final and most likely the final. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11524 - 27/04/2016 17:22:49 1850207 Link 0 |
Celtic and Rangers are both on the one side of the draw, so it will be one of them in the final. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3846 - 27/04/2016 17:27:31 1850210 Link 0 |
I don't see either why people persist in citing Cork as dark horses when they haven't reached an All-Ireland semi-final since 2012, exited the qualifiers tamely to Kildare last year and were just relegated. The combination of the three suggest to me that they are a long way off, and frankly I'd put Monaghan above them given their Ulster Championship wins in the last few years. I think Cork are tricky simply because you don't know which Cork team will show up on the day. I could see them taking a scalp somewhere along the line, but then falling apart in the next match. I don't think they're consistent enough to go deep in the championship. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3846 - 27/04/2016 18:39:13 1850226 Link 0 |
A big victory wouldn't have to come in Croke Park. They could pull out a great performance in Munster, for example, just like they did last year, but then go on to the quarters and utterly come apart. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see that happen. ZeitChrist (UK) - Posts: 154 - 27/04/2016 19:31:19 1850242 Link 0 |
Tyrone will NOT be in the All - Ireland final. Not good enough from 10 to 15. DLlegends (Donegal) - Posts: 503 - 27/04/2016 19:43:05 1850245 Link 0 |
In fairness to Cork last year I think they were most unlucky. They should have beaten kerry the first day and if memory serves I think they only had 6 days after losing the replay to kerry before they played Kildare. Condorman (Dublin) - Posts: 983 - 27/04/2016 20:03:05 1850250 Link 0 |
