DJ's got a point here.

I think the changes are positive but maybe the better change would've been to merge the 2 grades into an under 19 grade.

I can't see the reason for replacing minor with U-17. Is it because they feared a lot of the more talented minors would be playing U-20 as well ? I suppose you change one you have to change the other.

As others have said it's just going to bring to the s & c work forward by a year as supporters, Co. Boards and therefore managers look for results and trophies from the new U17 grade or management will be deemed to have failed and be replaced.
The injuries will continue just at a younger age.
The motive of moving the competitions away from important exam time is laudable but l feel it's going to put increased pressure on our young stars at an even earlier age.
