by your system its harder for a county that favours hurling to be considered a dual county as football has more competitive teams so its easier to get into second division in hurling. I would consider limerick more of a dual county than kerry.. its just there as far more football counties so harder to be elite. you are putting kerry hurlers in the top table but its just because there is only really 8 or 9 elite hurling counties and they'd all annihilate kerry if they met in championship.. blackspot91 (Limerick) - Posts: 1055 - 09/06/2015 17:13:36 1734770 Link 0 |
I'd consider Wexford a dual county in my lifetime. Football is in a bit of a transitional period at the moment but all through the 00s we were in the top division in both codes and competing well in leinster. A good few national semi finals in that era between the codes too Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3802 - 09/06/2015 17:26:02 1734777 Link 0 |
How do you define Dual county? Do you have to win anything specific to qualify for this badge of honor, or just play both, at any standard? IF there is a benchmark, what is it? Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3853 - 09/06/2015 17:26:38 1734778 Link 0 |

A duel county is one that promotes both codes equally, has structures to accommodate both and has good participation levels. It is nothing at all to do whether you are good at only one code that is a ridiculous criteria. At the same time having a few clubs playing one code is not the criteria either. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4955 - 09/06/2015 21:41:02 1734908 Link 0 |
