"Tyrone Tom" aka Tom McDermott out of the first Big Brother, was quite a good defender for his club, don't know where the hell he is now though.

Jayo - Had a lot of bother with the lower spine as a result of it, still have bother with it yet along with neck problems. Turned out to be a catylist for my move into management/coaching while still in my early 20s, but it had a lot to do with how i hit him. Only good thing was, i was out cold and couldn't hear him screaming!!

Played against Tomas Meehan, Conor Mortimer, Pat Fallon, Christy Toye and Paul Finlay. Finlay by far the best of them

Marked Padraig Joyce a few times at uderage in midfield, did well a couple of times (I got 1-4 from play one time) and got one bad roasting. Was marked by Declan Meehan one time with me at number 11 and him 6, fastest player I ever came up against. Marked Eamonn O'Hara once in a schools game and didn't do too well, he was very good even then.

Also played against Michael Donnellan, Derek Savage, Shay Walsh, John Divilly, Richie Fahy, maybe others I can't remember.

Aaron Kernan and Oisin McConville for against Cross in a challenge two years ago. Was never so tired after a game thanks to Kernan running all over the shop. Also got to mark Mickey Linden for ten minutes in a challenge against Mayobridge, although at that stage he was probably over 40.

i marked nicolas murphy once. he wiped the floor with me. he was good then though. I also had the pleasure of playing in a game of hurling along side Joachem Kelly. this was only about 8 years ago. he played centre back and i was on the wing along side him. you know the saying "form is temporary, class is permanent" enough said.

Marked Sean Cavanagh once a while back while on underage county team, god he was pure class even back then. Played on Conor Gormley and Aaron Kernan aswell, both in challenge games for the club, both very sticky markers even in friendies! Played on Paul Finlay a few times down the years aswell, never played as well as he has for county though, thank god! Also used to mark Tommy Bowe, irish rugby international, a few times at underage before he settled on the oval ball game as number one.

Not strictly on the thread here lads, but I know the genuine Gáels will support this one : I've played football with our greatest county legend, Packy McGarty. He made a swan-song return to his native club in the early 70's, and being handed the 14 jersey, ripped, his comment was " what the hell has Michael McGuinness R.I.P (father of current county-men) done to my pheckin jersey". A wonderful ambassador for the county and the GAA.
To me, it's not about the medals - it's the memories. Those guys from more than 40 years ago are brothers.
