Meath and Laois for the big drop as Kildare will rally

I think we are in big trouble, we are playing with a total lack of confidence and It is hard to see us winning 3 out of 4 which we may need to to stay up, A win in Cavan is a must for us now and hope that that would generate some momentum, but with Galway away, Rossies at home and last game in portlaoise you would have to say its unlikely. I wouldn't write us off but we need to see a different Kildare than what we have seen in the last two games. I would give Westmeath a good chance in Navan this weekend having played both sides Westmeath were the more impressive, Roscommon seem to be going the right direction as well, I would say the top 4 will be Roscommon, WestMeath, Down & Galway, not necessarily in that order, with the other 4 fighting the drop.

Loads of interesting games here this weekend. Make or break weekend for Kildare against Cavan, draw or a will should get them going again. Kildare's inability last weekend to take their chances is once again the main concern. Lose this one and they'll probably need to win min of 2 from 3 remaining to stay up. Cavan lost to Down at home already and won't want a repeat. Cavan to win by 2. Laois are slightly better off as they've now got a game in hand, even if it is against Galway. Same as Kildare, simply have to get something out of Roscommon. Form suggests Roscommon to win by 4-6. Galway and Down is a great tie. Down won't want to lose at home again, and Galway are tipping along nicely. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see a draw here. Lastly we have Meath vs Westmeath, local derby etc. If Meath are serious about promotion, have to win home games. Westmeath confidence seems to be back after a string of atrocious results last year. Close game, Meath by 2-4.
With the way teams are taking points off each other, wouldn't be surprises to see a team get promotion with 8pts, relegation would happen with 4-5 points. No-one's safe yet and all to play for, which is why I prefer the league to championship these days.

Did you read my post at all or completely missed the point i was making? i questioned where royaldunne confidence comes from and my post is proof their is very little difference between Meath and the other seven teams in this division.

Yes I did read all your post and I get the impression that you're not too fond of Meath, royaldunne is an optimist when it comes to Meath football, I don't share the same level of optimism but I do admire his positive attitude, it's infectious and anyway what's wrong with being optimistic?

To be fair hteaM, analyser isn't the first one to call RD out on this. The anti-Roscommon stuff he's spewing is daft and I'd be embarrassed if another Rossie was doing similar to Meath. Optimism is one thing but hes coming across as pure arrogant. Either that or hes worried. I expect a bit of it before a championship game against Mayo, not a league game against a team we have no huge history against. Sounds a bit rattled to me.

I don't rate Roscommon as high as others do. What i said was Meath would win, and that Roscommon would do as their objective to stay in div2. I still say that and on the 22nd i will be expecting a Royal victory. If that's arrogance then im arrogant, if its optimism then im a optimistic.

RD calls it as it is and has to be admired for that but is offside about the Rossies in my view. They are doing well and the development over the last few years seems to be bearing fruit. The 4 games this wend coild be very close. Putting my head on the block I think draw in Portlaoise, draw in Breffini, draw in Newry and close win for Meath.

Not sure how you would jump to that conclusion? i merely pointed out where you stand the last few years TBH you guys should have the same thinking as us of taking it one game at a time and don't underestimate opposition but it seems through all of royaldunne so called optimism he is unable to do that.

I have said about this upcoming match v wm that it is going to be very difficult, i just said we would beat Roscommon, that's what had annoyed the rossies nothing more. I don't rate Roscommon as high as others, and i said many times Roscommon will have a great team in years to cone, just not yet.

Meath could of been playing in division one this year. They should of beating Donegal last year and that match ended in a draw. The two big suprises in this Division is Westmeath doing well and Kildare struggling. At the start I tipped Kildare to win this along with Galway going up. I also predicted Laois and Westmeath to go down.

Ollie that is the two surprises , i think westies should never have let Flanagan go, cribben is a good manager and has a decent set of lads to work from. Wallace starting is a huge boost for us, just get Gillespie and Reilly back and things will get better. I feel Westmeath will not be as easy as some think . It'll be tough but at home i think we will win by 2/3.

Royaldunne, wee have Westmeath in the championship this summer. I am sick to my teeth facing them. I say they are in the same boat. Since 2010 Louth have played Westmeath four times in the championship and four times in the league including a league final. There is usually a score between both teams at the end of the match.

Royaldunne staying up is the main aim for Louth. They were hot favs with the bookies to go down at the start of the league. Anything else after that is a bonus.

Tonight should be a fantastic game, Hon the Royal.

Louth should be looking to emerge from Div 3 although some good teams there like Armagh Tipp and Clare. Paddy Keenan a big loss but Louth generally produce some good footballers. League status seems to matter little come Louth Westmeath championship matches of recent years.

Paddy Keenan is a legend in the Wee County and rightly so. Probably the best player to put on the red jersey. He spend twelve seasons playing for Louth and the last five as captain. He will go down as the most unluckest captain of not winning a Leinster title. The past two seasons Louth have lost players like Keenan, Shane Lennon, Ronan Carroll, Darren Clarke, Razor Finnegan, Andy Mc donnell and Casey Byrne are just a few to name. A win against Sligo tomorrow night should secure division 3 status and then the P word might be mentioned. An Lu Abu!
