Best wishes from all in Cavan. Colm was up coaching kids in Cavan this year. What a terrible loss to the game. Last years display against the Dubs was one of the greatest by any centre-forward since I started watching our games as a kid. Brownred (Cavan) - Posts: 229 - 17/02/2014 16:25:15 1547514 Link 0 |

It's actually amazing how influential he is in general, on PP Kerry have gone out to 9/1 from 6/1 last night, for the AI! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8743 - 17/02/2014 16:29:52 1547520 Link 0 |

What a terrible blow, not just to himself & Kerry but to the game of gaelic football. A real sickener. Floops (Dublin) - Posts: 1623 - 17/02/2014 16:33:11 1547525 Link 0 |

Devastating news for Cooper, Kerry and the GAA in general. Hopefully its a speedy non complicated recovery for him. Dubsfan28 (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 17/02/2014 16:40:40 1547531 Link 0 |
I firmly believe that the true mark of a great sportsman/woman is his/her ability to make their sport look so effortless and easy on the biggest stage against the top top opponents. Colm Cooper is up there among those greats. Consistently over a long period of time he had been a torn in the side of manys a great team. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13654 - 17/02/2014 16:41:19 1547532 Link 0 |

Big pity. I hope he is back in business soon, and if that means not playing for a year, people should respect his decision if it comes to this. It is an amateur game and he has given so much over the years. Good luck to the man, going to be missed by everyone this season. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3846 - 17/02/2014 16:48:52 1547540 Link 0 |

Awful news. Looked bad on Saturday and that was sadly the case. Speedy recovery Gooch. The best ever, in my opinion. MayoMark (Mayo) - Posts: 332 - 17/02/2014 17:11:05 1547559 Link 0 |
Slightly off topic, but something needs to be looked into about cruciate ligament injuries. They've completely plagued the GAA for the last 5 years especially. Not a coincidence if you ask me. CaisleanCnucha (Dublin) - Posts: 1379 - 17/02/2014 17:11:20 1547561 Link 0 |
I hope he can recover fully but by the time he returns he'll be 31 if you look at say Vidic at Man United hes isn't half the player he use to be... Mr_Pundit (UK) - Posts: 677 - 17/02/2014 17:13:25 1547564 Link 0 |
