I am posting this in response to

The John Heslin scored 2-16 in championship game Post - John Heslin is a terrific prospect and this was indeed a very fine scoring tally

As well all know the Mayo forwards are a much maligned species

However it is worth nothing the weekend after the all Ireland final

Aiden Kilcoyne scored 3-4 for Knockmore (He was a star forward on the Mayo U21 team that one the all ireland in 2006)
Darren Coen scored 4-9 for Hollymount (Darren Coen has been an exciting prospect at Minor & U21)

Neither were considered good enough to be an option for even comming on as a sub in the All Ireland Final

could only manage a goal last night for UCD in the dublin championship when they got hammered by 13 points by St Judes.

bad dolphin

posiibly the fact of the opposition being poor made his contribution alot glosier then when he met a decent side like st judes

Ah yeah poor opposition alright.

Obviously I'm not saying it's the same, but to say Jude's are better than Garrycastle on the basis of what one player scores against them is simply ridiculous.

Garrycastle have proven themselves to be one of the top club teams in Leinster over the last few years. If you think they are a poor team then it doesn't say much for 99% of the other clubs in the province.

the point i was making was they obviously met a garycastle side who were poor on that given day that they are not the same level they were last year if they gave away 14 frees in scorable psoition and st judes obviously was a harder team for him to make in roads against as they didnt aford him the luxury of frees
