Looks conclusive enough

Anything on Philly McMahon's kick to Gooch's head?

Ya that looks pretty bad in fairness lohan. I know lads who tweeted the Sunday game to show it and discuss the matter and the sundaygame wouldn't , pity they didn't brush Paul Gavin's incidents under the carpet like that.

It looks very bad. He has let himself down big time. No one can condone that.

Looks like something for the CCC to deal with and McMahons alleged stamps as well.

Doesn't look good at all. Would need to see the video footage to be conclusive but O'Carroll could be in trouble. RTE never mentioned it!! Was Cooper lying on the floor after getting a cowardly kick in the head by the Dublin substitute McMahon? McMahon deffo deserves a few games of a ban. Cowardly act!

A photo on it's own tells nothing, it's just a moment frozen in time. We need to see the incident on video, only then will we have a clear picture of what, if anything, happened.

Has Cooper said anything? Have the Kerry authorities said anything?

I would need a lot more than a photo to convict anyone. If guilty the throw the book by all means, but one photo is not enough.

Alledged??

Very damning photo - the entire Dublin full back line were very fortunate not to be sent off!

Anyone who says Dublin and mayo deserve to be in the final because they play the purest style of football must now be cheering on mayo after these antics.

Yeah, but is he being cynical, because that seems to generate more column inches than cowardly physical assaults of this nature, discuss?

Looks bad but would like to see it in "play" and not a freezed frame as it can often look worse than it is. And this is where the Sunday game really annoys me....if that was Paul Galvin or a Tyrone player no doubt Des Cahill and the boys would be hopping about it.
Double standards.

I agree 100% with Muckross head. As damning as the photos is it's just a snapshot in time.
Video evidence is needed to back it up otherwise it's an unfair trial.

I think 2 Dublin players should be cited by CCCC, McMahon for kick on Gooch, and OCarroll for gouge on Gooch.
If they are not, especially after Tyrone player getting cited after Monaghan game, then it's bias.

If there is any justice, both players would receive hefty bans and should not be available to play in the final. What kind of message would it send out if after such disgraceful acts, both players were still allowed to take the field for the final?

Cooper shouldnt have to say anything. Any other sport in the world would act on this and do so decisively. Problem is that even if the GAA do give a suspension Dublin GAA will appeal and appeal and appeal. Nobody in the GAA can take their punishment like a man when shown to be wrong. It'll turn into a circus and the whole 'He's not that type if player' rubbish will be trotted out.
I feel sorry for Colm Cooper. Every time he got the ball yesterday he got tackled hard around the side of the head. Definitely targeted for aggressive tackling and obviously more by the evidence. Just got on with it and was by a country mile the Man of the Match. Giving it to Diarmuid Connolly was a mistake.
I cant watch the Sunday Game anymore. Spend so much time referee bashing over a few steps or whether a penalty on the line is in or out of the square. Never man up and take on the off the ball incidents and call them for what they are. Thuggery.

Agree with MuckrossHead it looks bad but would need to see it in real time to get a proper opinion

Would youse wheesht. You can't be saying anything negative about the purest, most delighful game of Gaelic Football ever to bestow any pitch. Jaysus the lads were creaming themselves with the superlatives being used both at half time and full time. So don't be going mentioning any of the cynical goings on (even though they were as bad if not worse than any to date this year), nor talk about the lack of defending or marking and the shoot out it pretty much became because of this. Keep that sort of criticism for certain teams and lets put others up on a pedestal.

Dublin knew if they didn't stop the Gooch they wouldn't win the game. They couldn't outplay him, they couldn't match him for class, so they took alternative measures. Woefully unsporting and the fact that nobody got punished for the trip, the kick in the head , or the eye gouge, just leaves a bad taste.

if these incidents are not dwelled it it is v poor form they are the type of incidents we claim to be trying to satmp out of our games & sends a v poor message to both the fans & the players regarding player safety on the pitch.

First off - it doesn't look good... it looks like he should miss the final IMO

BUT WAIT A SECOND...

If you are going to convict someone of a snap shot in time

Then Conor Gormley would have missed the semi-final...

Remember how that shot looked frozen in time... a closed fist to the face is what it looked like!

If you hadn't seen the video you'd swear it was a direct punch straight to the jaw based on the photo alone

themaster I think posted a shot of the incident... go have a look yourselves

But there's a completely different story to tell when you see it in real time

You see the video AND it's a completely different story altogether and he was rightly cleared of that incident

- Now please tell me if that's the truth or not!

If it was up to the photo alone he would have missed the semi which would have been an injustice to the player and to Tyrone

Based on that incident I think it's important not to judge on a photo as has been correctly pointed out by a number of posters

You then have posters on personal agenda's such as Brend to highlight injustices against his own county

But in doing so he's ignoring an incident that happened to one of his own county men... which could have seen him unjustly punished.

Going on photographic evidence alone...

In my own playing days I had plenty of defenders stick their hands into my face on the ground as they were getting back up

I'm sure it would have looked awful if there was a photo of it taken...

What wouldn't have been captured is me getting back up off the ground in a nano second looking for blood...
