tyrone were the team of the decade there is no argument there,

Kerry won the most didnt they??? sick of ulster people from small counties like antrim and cavan etc trying to piggyback off the success of the tyrone's and donegals.

seanie_boy, sorry if it looked like I was having a swipe at Tyrone, I honestly wasn't. I just class that Kerry team as the best ever..

Ahh lads come on - get over yereselves and applaud what was a great spectacle of Gaelic football!! Sure there were some cynical tackles, there always will be in such an intense game! All the Ulster teams are out how is anything that happened last weekend or the next few weekends have anything to do with Ulster teams?!

I have no problem with Sunday's game. Might've been the best I've ever seen and some of the rough stuff wouldn't bother me that much - it's par for the course in intense matches. Maybe there's a small degree of double standards but I think most people agree that the Cavanagh rant was a bit over the top (obviously not everyone). It does annoy me a bit that the Sunday Game focus so much on Tyrone. At half-time in the minor AND senior match Spillane was whinging about Tyrone. It's hard to listen to. The BBC Championship coverage has drastically improved in the last few years - they actually analyse the bloody matches, but in fairness the Sunday Game highlights aren't bad.

Well what defines team of the decade? Is it the most consistent/successful team or the team that beats the most consistent/successful team?

In the ten years -
Kerry: Won 5 times, Runners up 3 times, and knocked out at AI semi final stage 2 times.

Tyrone: Won 3 times, knocked out in AI semi final stage 1 time, knocked out at quarter final stage 3 times, knocked out in round 4 of qualifiers 1 time, knocked out of round 2 of qualifiers 1 time and knocked out at Ulster quarter final stage 1 time.

Tyrone had Kerry's number on the 3 occasions they met but what if they met in the seasons where Tyrone didn't reach the final? Kerry reached the final 8 times in 10 years whereas Tyrone only got to 3. I know as a Kerry man I'm gonna get the "biased" label thrown at me - but to be team of the decade I think you need consistency. Take for example this decade - In my opinion Dublin are so far the team of the decade with 2 all Ireland finals and 2 semi finals out of the 4 seasons.

Cork beat Kerry and Tyrone so that makes them the team of the decade

little fish even the tiniest "team of the decade" bait catches the angry ickle fish

the Tipp poster is particularly angry, Cavan is a little county true, so does that mean the opinions of Cavan people are not valid. Tipp is a big county so does your opinion hold more weight?

now wheres me small ball v large ball spinner?

No worries streaker I know you weren't being like that but I'm just defending my corner as we from Tyrone have to do on here continually. That Kerry team off course were one of the best sides in history, absolutely brilliant players and to see the Gooch on Sunday was a joy to behold. Sean Cavanagh and Finian Hanley .................brothers in arms :)

JMK, Kerry have 4 in the last decade, not 5. The win in 2000 does not count as a decade runs from the year ending in 1 to the year ending in 0. See wikipedia here, it explains it all.

Trying not to get into this decade thing, but honestly I think it's even. Kerry won 4 and made the final stages more often, but I think it is easier to get to the final stages from Munster as there are less games and easier games. Sometimes Kerry don't get a decent game until the quarter finals, Tyrone may have played 3 seriously hard games and accumulated injuries etc. from those. Look at this year, bar the second half against Cork (and possibly Cavan) Kerry didn't get a decent game until the semi against Dublin. Tyrone played the reigning all Ireland and Ulster champions in their run. Go figure... From their competition in Ulster, Tyrone done very well to win 3 all Irelands in the last decade and I'd put them even, in fact even by a nose, considering they beat Kerry 3 times, and Kerry never beat them in that time.
