Redfoot for a county who needed two Kildare men to win them an all Ireland I'd keep it shut and don't forget '10 when Lucan man Alan O Conor won you's Sam, so that's no all Ireland's in the last 40 years not great for a county with a pop of half a million people ouch. And don't start with hurling its been a 3 team comp for over a 100 years hardly a great achievement winning that. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 28/08/2013 19:23:44 1470481 Link 0 |

Dublin all the way, place of my birth and easily the most exciting football team in Ireland. However it's very hard not to want Mayo to win the final, think even the most hardened Dublin fan wouldn't begrudge Mayo an All Ireland win. gilly0512 (Galway) - Posts: 1176 - 28/08/2013 21:33:03 1470575 Link 0 |
Dublin all the way. If Kerry ever win any All Ireland again it will be too soon, even the ploughing championships. Dragon (Cork) - Posts: 12 - 29/08/2013 08:24:53 1470627 Link 0 |

gilly2308, you should have added, who are not still bitter about taking a hiding from them last year... TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 29/08/2013 09:40:41 1470673 Link 0 |
3 points is a hiding? So Mayo did get a hiding off Donegal in the final so. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 29/08/2013 10:13:24 1470695 Link 0 |
Dublin v Mayo have provided some great games over the years including the all-ireland semi-finals of 1985, 2006, 2012 so hopefully if this is the final it would be the same. Both Mayo and Dublin have been the most enjoyable teams to watch this year. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1792 - 29/08/2013 10:22:48 1470700 Link 0 |
I'm hoping for a Dublin win as I think both the team and Jim Gavin deserve it for more or less going back to the traditional style of football. OntheWhiteSide (Kildare) - Posts: 452 - 29/08/2013 10:33:58 1470705 Link 0 |

Redfoot, country players did not play with their clubs down the country and then with Dublin. The reason Dublin teams from late 20s to early 40s were dominated by country players was that GAA had a rule that you had to play for the county you lived in. At that stage many of the best hurlers and footballers in country were teachers or Free State army soldiers or Gardai living in Dublin. Only all Dubs clubs to break dominance of county championships by Garda, Army Metro, teachers, Civil Service and UCD between late 20s and early 50s when Vinnies came good were Joeys and O'Tooles. hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 29/08/2013 11:21:17 1470741 Link 0 |
