A point from young Nash and hawk eye shows the ball as I side the bar but a red line behind it and flags it as a miss. Malfunction may e? Could cause trouble yet. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11540 - 18/08/2013 13:33:26 1463241 Link 0 |
*inside the bar. Even the commentator was surprised that miss showed up on screen. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11540 - 18/08/2013 13:41:00 1463248 Link 0 |

If hawk eye shows to have got this one wrong then the system surely needs to be scrapped as its integrity will be questioned for every decision from here on in.... caddyfarmman (Mayo) - Posts: 61 - 18/08/2013 13:55:41 1463260 Link 0 |

Is that the end of hawk-eye altogether? It is hard to see how anyone will trust it again after today. Gaillimh_Abu (Galway) - Posts: 1033 - 18/08/2013 14:44:14 1463279 Link 0 |

Well I see the referee has wisely decided to let extra time decide the Minor Game. Just as well there is no doubt in the world that Hawkeye needs Specsavers. I was reading the GAA pages on the Sunday Indo as the Hawkeye incident took place, a piece about Togher in Cork being the present day Sporting Capital of Ireland. I was most surprised to read there that two former Cork hurling stalwarts Gerald & Charlie McCarthy were brothers and also that Jimmy Barry Murphy came from Togher. Jimmy lived 4 doors from me as kids growing up and his local Club would have been Bishopstown however his family had a long illustrious history with the Barrs and that is why he ended up playing for the Togher outfit. Between Hawkeye and the Indo sports journalists you couldn't believe your eyes. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 18/08/2013 14:59:41 1463289 Link 0 |

Kingdom boy.....the umpire Paddy Smyth was a member of the Cavan team that lost the 1937 final to Kerry in controversial circumstances. Clearly he had a good memory and saw this as an opportunity for revenge!! beal (Mayo) - Posts: 1388 - 18/08/2013 15:19:30 1463307 Link 0 |

I dont think there was any malfunction. The ball touched the virtual posts and therefore it was given as a wide. Simple as that BelieveinMeath (Meath) - Posts: 121 - 18/08/2013 16:43:10 1463370 Link 0 |
