Great performance! An Ulster Senior and Minor double is a very fine achievement. Well done to Monaghan.

Well done to Monaghan on a terrific win, 'out Donegaled Donegal'. Donegal will get over Laois and still will be in the 1/4 finals

Wow some day for Monaghan the minor game was epic and obviously very disappointing for our lads but they have another day. Walshe, Corey and Wylie (Particularly pleased for him) neutralised the enormous talents of McBrearty, Murphy and McFadden respectively. We won't ever witness these 3 play such a peripheral role again. At one point late in 1st half I actually had to remind myself that Michael Murphy was on the pitch. Generally, a class player like him only needs a few seconds in a game but it never materialised. Monaghan put their bodies on the line - Donaghy was superb winning loads of breaking ball. The two Hughes boys and Dessie Mone from an offensive point of drove hard and penetrated what hitherto has been impregnable. To see Eamon McGee outfielded and played particularly in first half was something I've never witnessed before as he is some player. Kieran Hughes looks some prospect, both the Hughes boys have great kicking technique.
Great for the older guys who've been close before with probably better teams but just not got there.
Donegal though appeared lethargic all over. The heat will have played a part but the intense training and work rate they've applied the last two years is so difficult to replicate. We have seen the same in Tyrone. They have the ability to bounce back but difficult to see how they can regain the freshness needed this year. Agree Mark McHugh is a vital cog and Jim McGuinness said as much even in a philosophy that emphasises the team over the individual. Young Ryan did great though, stopped a goal and scored a point, many believe him to be more talented. Didn't look good for Mark though he tweeted last night he was still in hospital kept in overnight and couldn't remember much of the game more worryingly - so much for a "dead-leg".
Very gracious from the Donegal posters (began to worry about some of you after some the posting earlier in the year) but clear you appreciate the breakthrough and result of hard work, hunger and what it means to Monaghan.
