Kildare v Tyrone

Not going to let my heart rule my head so it's Tyrone by 5 for me
I feel it will be tight for the most part but feel Tyrone's brains will rule our brawn come the final whistle unfortunately.

Tyrone team also named:
Pascal McConnell, Aidan McCrory, Conor Clarke, Cathal McCarron, Ryan McKenna, Peter Harte, Conor Gormely, Colm Cavanagh, Sean Cavanagh, Matthew Donnelly, Mark Donnelly, Joe McMahon, Darren McCurry, Stephen O'Neill, Martin Penrose.

Looks very strong, particularly up front, it has to be said. And Kyle Coney and Justin McMahon on the bench, crikey...

Is SON really starting? I hear he may not be fully fit and might not start.

Don't understand why the fella above is worried about kyle coney being on the bench. He has done absolutely nothing for tyrone and we have 4 "scoring" forwards who have not proved there metal yet, mc curry does look the best of them and its a stronger team than was put out against roscommon. Think both teams are overrated and I think we will be very lucky to come away with a win here.

Stephen o'neill will start he has been training this week and boy do we need him, not many others can put the ball over the bar. We are still very much chopping and changing at a late stage with mc crory coming in at corner back for the first time since he got roasted against cork

O'Neill starting + Foley not starting = Tyrone win, unfortunately

Prefer to see Leper named in the forwards too

Outside of Newbridge you would have to fancy Tyrone for this one, but it's in Conleth's and this evens things up a fair bit. Tyrone by 2, maybe : )

Don't think the game is going to hinge on just one player from each side. O'Neill will surely be a bit rusty but I'd imagine Peter Kelly or Hughie will be picking him up. Mick wasn't exactly on top form even prior to the injury. Have to say I'm fairly happy with the team and no doubt but Paul Cribben will have a big impact in second half. Think the benches will really determine the outcome of this game.

Foley is a big game player. If he is fit then it is a risk not to start him. Kildare have a tendency to fall behind and let teams get a run on them before finishing strongly. This was the case in both league matches against Tyrone and I fear that history will repeat itself.

Foley is injured so not an option. The picked team looks strong with some quality players on the bench. Really feel we can win this in a close game. With a sea of white noise in Newbridge in the sun could be a night to be remember.

Cant help but get this awful feeling that this is perfectly set up for a famous Kildare win, followed by a run to the quarter finals, all the elements are there, even the warm summer evening, its all there. Not that I would begrudge Kildare or their faithful band of supporters that joy, may the best team win and heres hoping for a good advert for our game.

If Kildare managed to pull this off I think it could be the making of this young team I would give anything for Kildare to win.

The expected line up from Tyrone. More or less the same team that overcome Kildare in the League semi-final at Croke Park. Joe McMahon is back in from that game, which is a help, and McCrory replaces Quinn who has left the panel. Mattie Donnelly scored 1-2? that day and caused Kildare all sorts of bother running from deep. You would imagine he will drop back into a similar role again tomorrow. Mark Donnelly also had a good game and Stevie O'Neill kicked a couple of wonder points. There's not a lot between these two sides in my eyes. Kildare can't afford to concede 2-15 like they did in the League SF, so they may go more defensive ala Roscommon to try and frustrate us. It took us a while to switch on and work our way through Roscommon, Mickey and the boys should be well warned if faced with the same again. I still think we can do it, even if only just. Tyrone by 2

I would like to wish all the Tyrone supporters a safe journey to and from Kildare. Kildare supporters are friendly and welcoming to all visitors to our county, and whatever the outcome, I am sure it will be a marvellous occasion for one and all.

Kildare, too many muscle men, not enough Johnny Doyles.

Tyrone have more natural footballers and will bring Geezers reign to an end.
