The big question will it be played at Newbridge.....

It has to be in Newbridge. There would be no way Tyrone would move it out of Omagh if it was the other way around.

Why would it NOT be played in Newbridge?

Tickets will be tight for it with Kildare Louth nearly filling it Saturday but should be a great game. I presume it will be televised by TV3 or RTE aswell.

Brutal draw - toughest we could have drawn. Incredibly, this will be Tyrone's 8th away match in our last 9 championship meetings. The other game was at a neutral venue!

All the controversy over Newbridge not being big enough for Donegal Tyrone and Dublin in the league surely it wouldn't be big enough for Tyrone In championship. I hope it is played in Newbridge as the atmosphere would be electric

Agreed Thomas Clarke, brutal draw but not one which Kildare will be happy about either. Why we dont get any home games is beyond me, three back door games all away from home? And that stat you just produced there too is very interesting, foul play I say, foul play!

Now theres a stat TC, although I somehow believe that playing away from Omagh actually works to the teams advantage, if not the tight budget of the supporters.

I think physical and mental fatigue is a potential problem too, Brend. These lads work Monday-Friday, and then are away from their families all weekend. It's bound to get to them after a while. Still, we can't really complain, as this is the price you pay for not winning the provincial championship.

On the positive side, we still don't really know our best team, and this will give us (hopefully) 2 tough tests to find out exactly what we do or don't have in some of our younger lads. if we come through, we'll be the team to avoid in the quarters.

Should be a good game but only idf Kildare rediscover their backbone. If they don't then no better team than Tyrone to steamroller them. Meath's performance yesterday must have been sobering for more than a few lillywhites.

This game better be in Newbridge. Great atmosphere there last Saturday evening. Not very hopeful but you'd never know.

The very same sentiment that I would have for Kildare

Venue will be interesting, I presume it will be up to Kildare, If we stick with Newbridge which i'm sure we will, there will be a scramble for tickets

Cant see why Newbridge can't increase it's crowd capacity by 3 or 4 maybe even 5 thousand for this game.

Health & Safety didn't seem to be an issue for the GAA at the end of the Munster hurling final between Limerick v Cork yesterday.

Kildare will be well up for this game given that it's Meath that will be waiting in the wings for the winners.

It really is the stand out game. Meath will fancy chances against either in next round.

Tough draw for tyrone, 3 x 3 hour each away trips for supporters not so good. I can't see it moving from newbridge, fairs fair. if we come out of these 2 games we will be battled hardened but i cant see us getting past kildare

Should be a cracker, this will show how good these teams actually are now, especially Kildare.

This statement must be a wind up lol, I hope Meath start some shooting practice and devise a modern day game plan if you fancy your chances against either side.

Can we leave this as a Kildare v Tyrone thread please? Last thing I want is the usual few from Meath coming on here derailing the thread.

I don't know how it would be a wind up? a lot of people are saying if tyrone win then tyrone v meath will be a really good game. the meath players would have no fear of tyrone and would look forward to playing them.
