Jack McCaffrey right now should be favourite for YPOTY, he has been incredible, one of our best players. Kilkenny being favourite is a perfect example of how forwards get way more recognition because he hasn't been nearly as good as Jack so far.

Well we've no full back now so Kerry should drift out. Toss of a coin between Donegal, Dublin and Mayo at the moment.

McCaffrey at 5/2 ain't bad but Mannion 7/1 for POTY is the value bet. Anyone have a list of the top scorers in the championship so far? I reckon B. Brogan at 9/2 is good value even though his form has been poor so far.

What price Graham Reilly poty.?
He is going some guns at minute and despite our inevitable defeat to Dublin, a favourable draw in rd 4 would see us back in quarters, and hopefully against mayo. Wmight make semis. Then he'd be in with a great shout.

Dublin 2/1
Donegal 7/2
Kerry 9/2

Does anybody know from previous years how close the bookies usually get it at this time of year?.

Michael Murphy and Bernard Brogan joint favs at 8:1 for player of the year.

Ciaran Kilkenny fav for young player of the year at 13/8.

Jack McCaffrey would be my pick for this at the moment.

Early days yet lads. There will be no gongs handed out for playing well against teams like Westmeath & Kildare.

he has played division 1 teams all year

I agree Mannion at 7:1 for young player of the year is very good. Excellent young footballer.

God I can't believe Brogan is so short. I think he has had a poor summer to date so far. In fairness though it's usually decided by whoever plays well in the last 3 games so still time for Brogan to turn it on

you have it in one gotmilk. No awards handed out on the strength of league or provincial championships. August & September will decide the Player of the Year gongs.

The bookies seem to be pricing up the predicated winners of the four provinces Donegal, Dublin, Mayo and Kerry as favourities for the semi-finals. This rarely happens and may give encoragement to Cork or Tyrone.

Seems hard to believe 11/4 Kilkenny to win the All Ireland. 11/1 Dublin and Kilkenny might be very big come September

Has there ever been a team 1/500 to win a game?

How they have Kerry shorter odds than Mayo is beyond me, are you telling me that the current Kerry team and management of Eamon Fitzmaurice is stonger than the Mayo setup, no chance. Now neither side holds the favourites tag at present with that going to Dublin but in my opinion the winner will most definitely come from either Dublin, Donegal or Mayo, they have all the attributes of an All Ireland winning team end of.

Its actually an illogical bet , if you think Dublin will win the all Ireland you will be far better off accumulating the odds from their games.

It's hard to know about that really. If they get their hardest possible route, then that will give approx 11/4 eg. Meath 1/8, Tyrone QF 3/10, Mayo sf 4/7 and Donegal final 8/11.

However, if they got a much easier route, say Meath 1/8, Laois or similar qf 1/7, Tyrone sf 1/3 and Kerry final 4/7, then that would give around 13/8.

I think the current 9/4 best price looks about right given what we've seen so far.
