Meath v Wexford

Has to be said, absolute master-class from the Wexford posters here on not getting wound up. If the players are half as composed on Sunday ye'll be grand.

Sure what have they got to be wound up about? they are fully sure its only a matter of turning up. Just look at the comments from some of their posters

I think this has the makings of a great game. both sets of supporters are very confident. both teams have very good forwards so I expect it to be high scoring and I think its going to come down to whichever forwards play better on the day. brian meade had a good game against Wicklow so hopefully him and gillespie have another good day and we atleast break even around the middle.

You are right and you are wrong. I do believe that all we have to do is turn up on the day because we are the better team but we also have to turn up on the day in the right frame of mind. Even an average team like Meath have the ability to beat us of we aren't in the right head space. We aren't in the same class as Dublin but we should have nothing to fear from any other team in Leinster if we turn up in confident mood and perform to the best of our ability.

Getting very excited now. Can't wait. Never seen such a tight lipped build up from meath.

I think Wexford tactics over the past few years have done them no justice. They under Ryan (not bagging him because he has been huge for Wexford) messed around a bit too much in half back and mid-field, if they play more direct quick ball to the forwards they will be a different side altogether. They have the forwards to destroy most decent teams in the country if they can give some direct and quick balls from their mid-field and half back line. Think the team with the mid-field and half backs that play on the day will win this game.

Look nick. Just remember to leave the sticks behind. And enjoy the football lesson the royals will give you on Sunday. :-)

Personal I taught it was bookies that made teams favourites :-/ and if that's the case Meath are favourites.

But anyways closer we get the more relaxed I get tbh I just can't see that Meath line livin with our forwards and the great thing is their all talking up the usual four (lyng, banville,Barry, brosnan) and are ignoring holmesy which is great news. With paddy Byrne,Shane roche, Conor carty and joey wadding/robert teirneny we have five regurlar starters from last years team on the beach. Anyways like I said wexford 2-15 Meath 0-14

Wexcore, I know Wexford are confident for this one but leaving 5 regular starters at the beach might be over doing it ;-)

That's the thing we have improved on this year we never had under Ryan a strong bench I remember last year against tipp we had no recognised attacker on the bench

Wow the pace in the meath team that has been named is frightening. Wouldn't enjoy been a wexford defender in croker. Add to that, even if you do a good job on those speedy ones. Then you have the likes of joe, Farrell gilsenan to come on fresh and finish off the job.

I really like the look of this game. Could potentially be the game of the weekend.
Meath by a point I think

I hop it is the game of the weekend but so often these hyped up games disappoint. Carlow Laois tonight sounds like a cracker but it's not hard to make something sound good on the radio!

RD I haven't seen the team but pace is the key in croker. We've missed that in a lot of positions these last few years. Hopefully MOD's persistence with skillful pacey forwards pays off. I've a really good feeling about this. My goal for the year is to win either a Leinster final or an All-Ireland quarter final or both. It's about as much as we can hope for but it would be seen as a successful year.

Scary when you look at it like that RD. I'm just wondering would dublin stand a better chance in the final if ye hammer Wexford or if they gave ye a bit of a challenge. For me they would have a better chance if Wexford can get a few scores against yer watertight defence and put a small bit of doubt in the contempt Meath have built up over their lesser Leinster opponents.
