For as good as Meath were in the 2nd half Wexford were very poor. Wicklow who got close to Meath are getting hammered by Armagh what does that tell us?

Good football. Good, clean, hard game. I think Wexford ran out of steam halfway through the second half and at the same time Bray was moved from the edge of the square, Graham Reilly really came into it, and Newman figured out how to win handy frees. Meath are getting better and have a serious bench and I think they'll continue to improve. Wexford need to find themselves another 3 or 4 players to supplement what they have, and I think if they stick together are still better than a lot of what's in the qualifiers.

Bray got going, eventually same as Newman, but great free taking. Some poor mistakes by both teams, meath had stronger bench, midfield is still major problem, good open football, hard hitting tough some fine scores, but major major improvement needed if we to be even competitive in final.
One final thing. Graham Reilly. Jesus he would walk onto any team in country and would easily have been a star in any of our past teams. We are coming back but it will be a couple of years before we in shout for sam. All said though objective no 2 reached leinster final. Hon the royal.
by way hard luck to wexford you put it up to us for a long time, best of luck in qualifiers.

Well done to Meath I didn't think they had enough talent to get over Wexford but they pushed on in the second half and done the job. Dublin are obviously favorites for the final but anything can happen and I don't think Meath will mentally crumble like Kildare and Westmeath. I hope there is more young talent in Meath because the likes of veterans K Reilly, Bray, King, P Byrne, Sheridan etc down the spine of the team were never top tier players and certainly not now.

Worrying thing is the teams dumped out of Ulster in the 1st round all faced Leinster teams this weekend with Tyrone scoring 1-27,Fermanagh scoring 3-10 and Armagh scoring 2-21 in dumping out their opponents. And Antrim were very competitive in losing to one of the better Leinster teams in Louth. But I suppose they were all cynical goals and points from horrible football!

I didn't expect a victory of that margin for Meath but well done to them. It looked ominous for them in MF when Wexford were cleaning up early on but Meade was outstanding I thought. I'm a bit disappointed the way Wexford faded but Meath deserve credit, that was a massive 2nd half. One tip, while you are rebuilding you should look for a new 14, Bray yet again was terrible I thought and I don't think Joe can last 70 mins. I said that Newman needed to up his game and I feel he did , he was much more involved in open play. Wallace is very raw but I feel like he has potential to become very good. Keoghan had a poor start but grew as the game went on, the new half backline really helped Meath as well. I actually thought Reilly had a bit of an off day, his passing as a bit off and he fouled too often, he even missed a routine point in the first half but he had a strong 2nd half in fairness to him, and he is definitely the main threat to us in the final.

Congrats to Meath today, well deserved their win. Ye took the chances when we didn't and our bad decision making esp up front cost us. Best of luck in the next round.

Very pedestrian with no real passion in it like a soft non contact hypbrid sort of football. Dire!

cut the crap man. if there was an ulster referee the game would be more physical.

Thats a fair analysis. Graham was again our star player and he is pure quality and probably one of very few on team that will put it upto Dublin. However i did feel he should have passed the ball when he scored a point to joe who was wide open, now maybe he was blindsided i don't know. But just proves that he is only human. I thought the occasion got a little to wallace again at 19 these things can happen, but he is a fantastic prospect. Bray while good at times would be better uses as impact sub, Newman was improved and his free taking is excellent all in all we are a few years off Dublin, but gradually step by step we are improving and getting there. Well done to all. Every objective achieved no one in meath will complain with that. Once we keep defeat in final to single scores we will be happy. Can't wait to see who we get in rd 4 really would love to get back to croker.
hard luck again to wexford.

Well done meath. I predicted a 1-5 point win. If we come within 5 of Dublin in the final I'll be happy.

Hate to say it but best team won on the day. Good luck against the Dubs.Wexford looked by far the better team in the first half but Meath seemed more composed and better organised for the duration.
They also seem to have a bit more in the tank coming to the end.
Where did Wexford go wrong, persistant fouling within stricking range. You cannot constantly give away frees everytime the opposition gets within 30 of you goal and expect to win a game. Lack of discipline. Meath were so much better at closing down the Wexford forwards without giving frees away.
Wexford seem so against using the blanket defence in the past decade where everybody else is adopting it. That to me was the big difference in this game. Meath constantly blocked the way to goal. Wexford to me still have by far the more potent forward line but Meath had the best defensive tactics.
One thing I will say though is Bray's constant over carrying of the ball. Every point he took at least 7 or 8 steps. Saying that there was probably a Wexford fella hanging onto his jersey each time so maybe the ref gave some bit of compensation for that.
