I don't think wexford will be favourites :-/ I fully expect Meath to be and I am wexcore (Wexford) - Posts: 740 - 16/06/2013 16:56:36 1407890 Link 0 |

Think this has the characteristics of the kind of match Meath tend to lose. When they're fired up, backs against the wall and have a point to prove they can come out with big results, but Wexford in an empty enough Croker, seems like one of those games where Meath's inconsistency might trip them up. Also Wexford are seriously underrated, they have one or two lovely footballers. If Lyng and Brosnan are on form I could see them making hay. Wexford to win. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 16/06/2013 17:04:40 1407903 Link 0 |

Not sure how many will go to this double header. If it was Meath v Louth and Dublin v Kildare I could see it getting over 70k for the 2 games. But it's Meath vWexford so I'd say 20k for that match and 40k for the Dublin v Kildare one. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's a sell out just don't see that happening anymore. I think either team are very much capable of beating the other jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20763 - 16/06/2013 17:55:36 1407981 Link 0 |

I've never criticised Reilly, he's a top player. After seeing him running through Kildare and Dublin last year I don't think flying against Wicklow again is going to turn any heads especially when he scored five points against Wicklow last year too, it just wasn't on TV. And let's not forget Wicklow then went on to lose to Leitrim. Yes it was away from home but I wouldn't read too much into last night. The weaknesses that were there for Meath in the last few years are still there and there's nothing Graham Reilly can do about that. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 16/06/2013 17:56:53 1407985 Link 0 |

Dh in fairness nobody in meath is getting carried away by that win. Goal was leinster final, that remains the same. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 16/06/2013 19:53:19 1408141 Link 0 |

I personally think we will, just. But wex are and will be justifiably favs for this game. We have a terrible record against them whats it nearly 20 years since we beat them. They really have every right to be confident. But something tells me meath will win against the odds. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 16/06/2013 20:44:56 1408197 Link 0 |

This will be a 50/50 game. Can see it being a great game of football, some good forwards on show. Looking forward to it. MourneArmy (Down) - Posts: 1787 - 16/06/2013 20:56:38 1408213 Link 0 |

Have a slight fancy for Wexford in this, nicer forwards and more consistant I would say. Meath don't fear Wexford and see them as a hurling county and this could hurt them. Meath need fire in their belly to play well! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8821 - 16/06/2013 21:57:28 1408302 Link 0 |

It should be a close, high scoring game. Meath should up their game in Croke Park but I'm going to go for Wexford by a couple of points. I just feel they have more options up front and that the Meath back will need to have a big day. CaisleanCnucha (Dublin) - Posts: 1379 - 17/06/2013 10:25:10 1408449 Link 0 |

Has the making of the game of the championship so far. Good open football. Both teams will try an outscore eachother more than trying to neutralise eachother. Should be a cracker and an example of how the game can be played. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 17/06/2013 10:30:15 1408462 Link 0 |

I find it strange that a lot of people think wexford have the better forwards, I think wexford themselves are going to be very worried about our forwards and I don't thnk theyl have the defenders to hold them. in fairness not all our forwards had a good game against Wicklow but id expect bray and newman to play a lot better in croke park, but even having graham reilly and Wallace playing well, that alone will be difficult for the wexford defence and I think croke park will suit them even better because they have more space to run at defences. then the forwards we have on the bench can also do serious damage with the likes of joe Sheridan, brian Farrell, paddy gilsenan all able to make an impact when brought on. meathalltheway (Meath) - Posts: 789 - 17/06/2013 13:30:08 1408762 Link 0 |

If Dublin and Meath get to the Leinster Final the battle between Jack Mccaffrey and Graham O Reilly will be something else , two great players and two of the fastest players playing Gaelic football wow that will be some battle 'If' they were to meet. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 17/06/2013 16:26:34 1409004 Link 0 |

Depends what Meath side turns up. The one that is truly awful or the one that could possibly give the best of them out there a good game on their day. I fancy Wexford but this will be an interesting game! seany16 (Dublin) - Posts: 1663 - 17/06/2013 16:33:42 1409015 Link 0 |
