Had any of those 3 recieved all stars it would have further devalued the all star selections of recent years.

Well that's your opinion but all were unlucky to miss out the years they were nominated and that's the opinion of the experts at the time not just mine.

arts fair enough but with the benefit of hindsight now, has shine proved to be of all-star level, yet? Curran certainly wasn't, slideshows aside, nothing exceptional.
For me Frankie was the best if all but hard not to think there was an unfulfilled career in the county shirt there, and had he still been involved when shine broke into the senior squad then one may have helped the other over the all-star line.

Mattew. Are you for real? Niall Mc Namee is one of the best forwards to grace the game if he was with Kerry he would have several All Stars

Ger Heavin (Westmeath)
Padraic Davis (Longford)
Finbar Cullen (Offaly)
John Galvin (Limerick)
Stephen King (Cavan)

Was goading to say Seamus Quinn (Leitim) then realised he got one, what a player.

You beat me to it Sparrow with John Galvin.Had a MOM performance one year against Kerry when Limerick should have won.

Spike Fagan never got an All Star? Travesty.

Actually this challenge is harder than it looks.I was going to include Barnes Murphy but I think he has one so I'll add in Tommy Gill Wicklow.

Frankie Dolan should have had one in 2003. Scored 1-38 at year and was second only to Peter Canavan.

Pat O'Byrne (Wicklow) was some midfield player in his day and deserves an honorable mention

Niall Mcnamee is a class act , one of the best forwards to ever play the game up there with Gooch,Bernard,O Neill,Goulding etc he will never get the recognition he deserves cause he's plays for a poor Offaly team.

Dessie Barry ( Longford ) played circa 85 - 94 .. Some corner forward
Martin Daly ( Clare ) - great Clare forward in the 90's .. Ger Keane another Clare forward from same period ( don't think he got an All Star )
Red Pat Byrne ( Wicklow ) grafted for Wicklow and Ireland International rules 80 - 94.... Before All Stars were around Andy Phillips from Wicklow owned the Leinster Interprovincial Goal keeper jersey from around 55-63
- Ciaran McManus ( Offaly ) - a man who soldiered long and hard for Offaly for 16 years

I remember him, had a unique way of kicking a ball. He seemed to throw it up before striking it. Saw him v. Meath in '91 alongside Fergus (Fergal ??) Daly, Ray Danne, Kevin O'Brien and my old compadre Billy Timmins. At least Billy tells me he played football that day but who can believe all a politician tells you :)
