As I stated before the best Centre Half forward I ever seen was Greg Blaney closely followed by Trevor Giles, McDonald not even close to their level. So I will give my vote in this rerun to:
11: Trevor Giles
I also missed the 15 slot over the weekend but I am gonna vote anyway. Firstly I must stand corrected on Maurice Fitz and Bernard Brogan both of whom I mentioned for the 14 position and who both make my nominees for 15 Maurice Fitz Colm McFadden Bernard Brogan
The competition isnt as fierce for 15 as it is for 13 & 14 but I'm gonna give it to Colm McFadden lovely stylish footballer who has been doing the business for Donegal for years and IMO robbed of the POTY last year. Also we need a bit of physicality in the FF line with Wee Pete and Cooper taking the other two positions
15: Colm McFadden

In all fairness if you couldnt vote for your own county Mcdonald would win by a landslide, which imo the way it should be done,
Also Ciaran is the only man on the list who hasnt won an all Ireland, in all fairness there should be at least one,

Didn't like the thread - as the admin said, it's very internet-age biased. So I haven't been voting or following it too closely but here's my 15:
Martin Furlong
Marc O'Shea Mick Lyons Sean Flanagan
Tomas O'Shea JohnJoe O'Reilly Martin O'Connell
Jack O'Shea Mick O'Connell
Pat Spillane Sean Purcell Sean O'Neill
Colm Cooper Matt Connor Mickey Sheehy
I have based my decisions only on players I have seen live or have seen extensive footage of. For example, I have never seen Tom Kelly but hear he was magnificent. Very tough to settle on 15! As for today's argument - Giles is streets ahead on Ciaran Mac although Ciaran is one of the best footballers to watch - both greats.

You have probably worked out that the centre half forward spot goes to Trevor Giles. Hard luck to Ciaran McDonald, one of the most skilful players to grace a football field.
Our Hogan Stand team is:
1. Stephen Cluxton (Dublin)
2. Marc O'Sé (Kerry) 3. Darren Fay (Meath) 4. Tony Scullion (Derry)
5. Tomas O Sé (Kerry) 6. Seamus Moynihan (Kerry) 7. Martin O'Connell (Meath)
8. Daragh O'Sé (Kerry) 9. Jack O'Shea (Kerry)
10. Brian Dooher (Tyrone) 11. Trevor Giles (Meath) 12. Pat Spillane (Kerry)
13. Colm Cooper (Kerry) 14. Peter Canavan (Tyrone) 15. Maurice Fitzgerald (Kerry)
Well done to all.
Thanks to all of our posters for participating.

its a fair enough team, can't really complain about any of those selections. Admin, next time could we pick a team from each decade, for the more nostalgic among us? The modern player is remembered more due to TV coverage and online media, there were some mighty players from the past who did not get a look in because some never heard of them! What do ya say admin, a team for each decade? Which decade do we start with though!

Cheers master - moynihan could slot into any of those 6 back slots and was one along with sean cavanagh who i really didnt wanna leave out. but i'd be ran from Breffni if i left out the gallant john joe. the man was streets ahead of his time in terms of leadership - mayo were strong in the 40s and 50s so if you can get your hands on some dvds and watch him, i suggest you have a look - and at Mick Higgins too - to my mind, the only man to score a goal in 3 consecutive All Ireland finals
