Dodge what exactly?

Your post was completly one sided. You decided to have a pop soley at Meath. Why not say that theres no Mayo people voting against Mayo? That just highlights your agenda.

And as for a vote, whats the point in trying to talk to someone who cant do a simple task like pick one or the other player, instead picks a third party that isnt even in the running at all. Waste of time.

Ja,you're right. But the posters are not to blame. They belong to that class of society called Youth. They weren't around when football was football.

I used Meath as an example, I even admitted that Tyrone and Dublin fans had been biased as well. I was just trying to make the point that the other voting system would have been better. You're portraying me as very anti-meath and we're going a bit off topic so I'm going to leave it at that and stop posting on this thread.

Ciaran McDonald was more an individual than team player. Not always, but a lot of the time he loved to take the hollywood option in his choice of footpass and point shooting. When it came off it was class, more often than not though he would fluff it. Deep down I'm sure Mayo fans will say he has lost numerous games for their county because of this. Frustration was a word used already to describe him, it's spot on. Great player when things went his way.

Whereas Giles always played for the team and always performed. Two times footballer of the year and two time AI winner. A much better balanced player than McDonald ever was.

Without a doubt Ciaran McDonald, may have never lifted Sam but thats not his fault, always performed on rhe big day except for 06 final which he was injured for and he still started because he was so important to the teams morale, perfect example of this is 2004, if he was playing the other team he would have got MOTM.

Youth shouldnt excuse cluelessness. And the votes for Giles and McDonald keep coming.

I'll put this in soccer terms, the Meath fans night understand better. Picking Giles over Purcell is akin to a French person
choosing Henry over Pele. Henry, like Giles was an excellent player deserving of plaudits. That doesn't mean sane people pick him over the greatest player to play the game.

The above analogy also works with McDonald.

Will you quit rambling. You made your point, but Purcell wasnt voted for. This vote is between Giles and McDonald, so you rant and petty dig at Meath fans is pointless.

I'm afraid to say that you're the one displaying cluelessness. Are you not aware that posters were asked today to choose only between Giles and McDonald because it was a tie last week????

Re jafallon--Yeah I know where you are coming from. Of course, by all accounts, Sean Purcell was a better centre half forward than the two guys.

We started this competition, after many requests from readers, with the idea of picking the Greatest Team ever. But what materialised was a team from the internet age. Not many on here saw the great Tuam man playing.

For me the greatest corner forward, no disrespect to Maurice Fitz, was John Egan of Kerry, but the Sneem man slipped outside the time of the computer user and hence hardly a mention.

Sad but thats life, things move on. There was a tie with Ciaran and Trevor and this vote remains between the two.
