Competition: choose the greatest football team ever

Fitzgerald had one great year 97 and only moments of brilliance after in 2000 and 01 (sideline ball) , but the man was a sub for gods sake. These players retire and become better than they ever were playing. Bernard has been consistently destroying teams since 07.

Are you serious???????????? Fitz was playing for Kerry since 88. Brogan has a lot to prove yet.

Bernard Brogan has two men marking him in every game now and still runs amok, if Fitzgerald had two men on him he would never have got a sniff he lacked pace to be an all time great, but he had unbelievable skill.

He hasn't been destroying teams since 07, he played wing forward for most of 07, pulled his hamstring in 08 and had a massive leinster campaign in 09 but his championship was cut short when we were hammered by Kerry. In 2010 he was incredible, in 2011 he dropped a level but was still fantastic and last year he was average. You need to open your eyes if you genuinely believe he is the best 15 ever.

He did it against Holmes of Mayo in 97 an average defender and how Mayo left him on him the whole game I'll never know. And he's had moments of brilliance but he's not as lethal as Bernard Brogan. Gooch Canavan Brogan what a full forward line. I never seen Matt Conor play

He came on against Tyrone in 08 when they were getting hammered and still gave the Tyrone defence a roasting. Good to see our own supporters putting our own players down.

Bernard Brogan on the best 15 ever, you're having a laugh man.

I doubt he'd even make the best ever Dublin 15.

He isn't even the best player in his family.

Cute Kerry I've voted for nearly all the Kerry players that have got into the team, I've stated that Gooch is the greatest I've ever seen so please give me a break just cause I've a different opinion about one Kerry player to everyone else. Marc O Se the greatest corner back I've ever seen ,Thomas the greatest half back I've ever seen , Jacko and Spillane unreal and the Gooch the greatest corner forward ive seen, but I'm sorry Fitzgerald for me is overrated.

I saw him win All-Irelands with two men hanging out of him. He was a more complete footballer than is Bernard Brogan. He had two great feet, tremendous hands, was a great passer of the ball, had serious physical power and he was a terrific finisher. He was a great footballer. I am a huge admirer of Bernard Brogan but he is not as good a player as Maurice Fitzgerald. Playing Maurice Fitzgerald at corner forward would not have utilised his great talents to the full.

John Egan for no.15

'Good to see our own supporters putting our own players down.'

You are having a laugh? I'm trying to be honest. If BB had another couple of big season like in 2010 then he would be up there, but his career as a county corner forward only really started when he was 24/25 and he has only had 2 or 3 top class seasons from my viewing. You have to be biased or deluded to truly believe BB deserves no. 15.

Why was Maurice a sub then if he was so great? O Se had him as a sub for two years he couldn't get into the Kerry team and he was only 30 at the time. Complete footballers?? Who cares were talking about the best corner forwards and if I had to choose between Bernard or Maurice in there pump then Bernard wins hands down. Alan is not a better corner forward than Bernard never.

Actually No, I disagree: I voted Peter at 14 he was a class forward, and I'm voting Maurice Fitzgerald at 15. Joyce as good as he was wouldn't come close to Maurice Fitz in his prime. He ability off both feet was a joy to behold, I will never forget both his equalising point in Thurles in 2001, I was in the terrace behind that goal that Sunday the bend on that ball was unreal, I was on the Hill for his goal against Armagh in 2000 semi final, solo with the right and buried with the left, cracking balance and composure.

Joyce was brilliant. They were both great players and would grace any team. To say Joyce wouldn't come close to Maurice Fitz is wrong.

15: Maurice Fitz

Don't know what happened that last post. Have already voted for John Egan at 15. Joyce and Maurice Fitzgerald were both great players and in terms of ability there was nothing between them.

People saying Bernard hasn't done it consistently over the years (which i disagree with) but either has Joyce or Maurice. After 01 Joyce went missing and Fitzgerald had a great year in 97 were they bet Waterford Clare Cavan and Mayo to win Sam but only had moments before and after that.

As i was going for Peter the great here and he's at FF I'm going to put my FF choice of Matt Connorin the 15 jersey

A lot of honourable mentions for the likes of Maurice Fitz, John Egan, Bernie Flynn and Ollie Murphy, PJ from Galway but this team cannot go without Matt Connor.

Admin any chance you'd post the entire 1-14 or are ye waiting til the morning
