Martin O'Connell.

Superb footballer and gentleman to go with it.

Philip Jordan. Fantastic player and broke our hearts, always seemed to produce the goods when it mattered, mark of a great player.

Admin,

Do we just name both midfielders or is there a seperate date for 8 & 9? Id imagine there will be a lot of crossover between 8 & 9 with players so is it handier to do both together?

Mine
8 - Daragh O'Se
9 - John McDermott

What about Liam Tierney. Would have been a big player if he was part of a more successful county.

Martin O Connell gets the number 7 jersey. Know some of the Tyrone readers were not happy with events in 95.

One thing I will say in Martins defence. Seen him since he was 8 years of age when lining out at under 12 and honestly believe that over 30 years playing he was never in the slightest spot of bother with either opponents or officials.

Must have played in every position for Meath. Congrats also to Tyrones Philip Jordan, one of the great defenders of our time, who finished second to Martin.

Right on to our midfielders. There will be some competition for places here. Will take the votes in pairs, ie you can nominate two players.

Maybe breaking editorial rules but my choice, as it was for past 30 years, nothing has changed my mind since---Jacko and Brian Mullins. Just could'nt resist that inclusion.

Brian Mullins - 9 Leinster Titles 4 All Irelands 2 All Stars

Could be argued as Dublin's best ever player. To come back for that car crash that prob shoul of ended his career and win an all ireland in '83 is stuff of legend!!

My other choice goes to Darragh O Shea. Best midfielder of last twenty years!

There has been some great midfielders. Mick O Connell, Jack O Shea, Sean Cavanagh, Daragh O Se, Shea Fahy, Ciaran Whelan, Briam Mullins. I am going to be biased here and pick the 2 Kerrymen who were selected on the Team of the Century. Mick O Connell and Jack O Shea
