1405018 Meath posters dont rise to the bait what martin o connell did or didnt do would'nt be talked about now if tyrone had won that game. Still goin on about 95 and now 96 semi as well . Ive seen martin o connell play numerous times against dublin in some very physical encounters and would never consider him a dirty player ! Super footballer very versatile and easily deserving of the no.7 shirt !

Well Said, back to "Brian's" Post above, Yes Martin was Full Forward in the 86 Semi Final against kerry and was marked by Seanie Walsh.

No. 6 Kieran McGeeney.

And any chance posters could let admin decide when we are on to a new position? Messy thread

We are onto No 7. Seamus Moynihan won the No 6

Again I am asking people to put the brakes on. Only votes for the left half back position taken today. Start voting on your midfielders circa 10am tomorrow morning.

Left half back for me would be Philip Jordan from Tyrone.

Sean Og De Paor (along with Meehan on the other side) laid the foundations for the role of the modern wing half-back. Tough, athletic, clever support play from deep and a scoring threat.

Coincidentally it was exactly the same time Thuram, Lizarazu, R Carlos and Cafu were doing the same in soccer during France '98!

Just incase my vote wasn't counted earlier. Martin O'Connell. Most of the others wouldn't lace his boots, (exclude curran and de poer. ) from that comment

Plain old fashioned dogfight this one for me between Sean og dePaor and Philly Jordan

Philip takes it tho due to his relenting determination, attacking prowess and defensive qualities. Jordan's defensive qualities are perhaps the best part of his game, in all of his championship starts for Tyrone I believe only against Kildare in 09 was he exposed. But at his peak there was no equal.

On a side note I also that Martin O'Connell seems to be recieving a lot of votes, I cannot understand this as deliberate head stamp aside he was an average footballer, and a real string of misery into the bargin

Philip Jordan
