Think its time for centre half back. A lot of great players have worn the number six jersey with distinction over the years. Names like Kevin Moran.i Keith Barr, Liam Harnon and Tim Kenneally scream out at me. But for me, the best I've seen in this position is a Kerryman, Seamus Moynihan. Pure class

Tomas O Se gets the right half back position, the most conclusive vote to date. Amazing that uncle Paidi was his nearest competitor and Tomas forms an all O Se right side of defence with brother Marc at right full. Time to start voting for the vital centre half back spot. With some top quality defenders in contention this promises to be the most interesting contest yet.

No.6 - S Moynihan

Would have loved to put down Harnan as I rate him as definatly the next best, but for me, Moynihan was just something special at 6

Moynihan has to appear in defence somewhere so i'll pick him for 6.

Seamus Moynihan Kerry for centre-back

Others considered where Tim Kennelly Kerry, Glenn Ryan Kildare and Kevin Moran of Man Utd. The Gallant John Joe was just ever so slightly before my time. I like the idea Michael Donnellan too in this position

Yes some great players wore that centre half back shirt.

Gallant John Joe, a leader of men.

Kildares Mick Carolan, one of the many great Lilywhites who never won an All Ireland.

Dan McCartan, at the heart of the Mourne challenge as they made their historic break through in the early 60's

Seamus Meade, the lynchpin of the great Galway 3 in a row defence.

Bertie Cunningham, Footballer of the year in 67 and a brilliant catcher and kicker.

Nicholas Clavin, oozed pure class, duties as a priest saw a very short career.

Kevin Moran, who will ever forget those surges out of defence, maybe the first real overlapping defender.

Tim Kennelly, the rock at the heart of the Kingdom defence.

Liam Harnan, without question the most underrated player on the Meath team of the late 80's, early 90's

Glen Ryan, the heart of a lion who gave everything for the Kildare cause

Just a selection and know that I have over looked many other greats

It looks like Seamus Moynihan is going to walk into the number 6 position. My number 6 goes to Down's Dan McCartan, a vital component in the famous Down team of the late 50's and early 60's.

Seamus Moynihan gets my vote. No mention of Keith Barr from anyone, Keith Barr was a great player who scored the greatest long range goal you'll ever see v Kildare '92 Leinster Final, he was also hard as nails who took no prisoners.

Clondalkin, I gave Keith an honorable mention in my post. Gave my vote to Seamus Moynihan though
