Could be 4 groups of 8 as per the current provincial cups.Teams are playing for the respective cups and not necessarily for the provincial championship title. For example Dublin could be the winners of the Anglo Celt cup and Kerry could be winners of the Delaney cup with teams progressing as they do now but with an allowance for defeated group finalists to get a second chance and go into the qualifiers like all the other teams.

why is the leinster hurling quarter finals priced at 20 euro stand and 10 euro terrace where as the leinster football quarter finals priced at 25 euro stand and 15 euro terrace, bit unfair on football supporters.

________

Maybe its cause the footballers guarantee a bigger crowd than the hurlers, Maybe its cause there is a senior double header in the football.

haha as you know il be at both games, just seems bit unfair to put prices up for one code over the other when they both are quarter finals in the province on the basis they know footballers will bring bigger support.
great deals for clubs though as every 10 kids gets one adult in free
3 euro entry for club tickets for under 16s.

If the Provincial championships were disbanded, it would eliminate alot of counties who have a chance of a Provincial title. I am talking about Leitrim, Sligo, Roscommon, Limerick, Louth, Westmeath, Laois, some notheren teams maybe. What would counties like this have to aim for every year if the Provincial system was disbanded???

They would never have a realistic chance of winning sam and what do they do then, try and get out of a group that may include Dublin and Tyrone as an example.

Yeah, rip off the more popular sport. Its a bit unfair on the football support IMO. But thats how its going, hurling gets all the benefits even though very few attend them while football is always getting the raw deal.
But I guess if you look at it there is more value in the football as at least you get excitement

Exiled cavan man obviously your sour grapes clouded your reading or judgement if you re-read my post i had IF!! Kildare beat or overcome Offaly on saturday hence the capital IF!! It will be a Kildare V Dublin final.
I realise I should have put Dublin/Westmeath I would love nothing more than Westmeath to knock the Dubs out but im been more realistic than ignornant of the fact that Dublin will probably beat Westmeath.
But sure look check aertal on saturday night and that result will probably be up there then.!!

Without a provincial title what would middle of the road teams have to play for? A 2nd tier championship? Sure that will only widen the gap between the top teams and the rest. Stupid idea.

Teams go through good and bad patches, it not unrealistic in 5 years that we have

Leinster - Dublin, meath, kildare, westmeath all challenging
Connaught - galway mayo sligo roscommon
Muster - prob the worst but you always have kerry and cork, tipp good young set up and limerick have been unlucky in recent times

God knows, if donegal win the next 3/4 ulsters people might want to get rid of it then!

The mostly like change if any I would see would be for a few counties to join other provincial championships on a trial basis. Not unheard of in world sport for teams to play in different regions and sure it's happening with Galway hurling.

Betting in munster championship for clare to win it 90/1 and waterford 200/1. thats with 4 teams left thats crazy. even london are around 20/1 for connaught. shows what the bookies think of Munster. 2 county province in football.
In leinster theres always a chance for a team to win it ,ulster the same, connaught over the years has been competitive only problem is not enough counties. Something has to be done in Munster.
