Well I wasn't born during the era of O'Rourke, Stafford, McEntee et all RD so Geraghty is the player who I would have admired the most growing up. Honestly though, what a player.

Michael Murphy.

Says it all about the caliber of player he is that at 23 he's taken over the mantle from Martin McHugh

can only account for the last 20 years, so I would go with

football: Kevin Madden, what a player he was before serous injury.

hurling: Brian McFall, stylish confident hurler who had the talent for bigger stages than Antrim could manage.

Kind of hard to pick one for Armagh as we had a great dedicated team over the most recent years and an argument could be made for each player. For me it would have to be between McConville or McGeeney.

No way was Gearthy the best footballer I seen great player but not in the same bracket as Gooch or Canavan. My Dublin player Has to be Bernard Brogan, is there a better player on his day than Bernard? Little injuries he keeps getting has kept him out of the Gooch/Canavan bracket IMO.

Martin McHugh.

Murphy may overtake him as he is still so young and I can't wait to see what kind of player McBrearty will be when he hits 24/25, scary to think about.

Lacey is a class act but its impossible to judge how good he is. The system Donegal play he has at least 2 forwards and a midfielder helping him in defence at any time. He has never been the best corner back, full back or half-back in the country at any given time so he still hasn't been tested in my eyes. I know people say that even in the bad years he stood out but he still had lots of extra help back there.

Murphy, McBrearty, McFadden have to play well receiving the ball 30-40 years from goal with 4 men around them and no immediate help!

I've seen quite a few good Dublin footballers over the years and find it hard to pick out one outstanding player so will choose mine over the decades. Jayzus I'm gettin' old!

60s - Heffo - just about still playing I think in the 60s I think. Never saw him play in the flesh but the Da says he was legendary
70s - Anton O'Toole - dynamite left foot with a great eye for the sticks
80s - Tommy Conroy - so gifted but never realised his true potential
90s - Dessie Farrell - one of the most talented half forwards of the day
00s - Ciaran Whelan - fearless and great fielder. A tower of strength.
10s - Bernard - probably the best of them all but a lot of football still to be played

Looking from the outside in I would of said Stevie Mc.

Pure class and up there with the best of his generation imo.

Would agree with Kevin Madden for the football, but you couldn't be further off with the hurling. I genuinely reckon Neil McManus is the best we've ever produced.
