Amazing how youknowwho changed his tune so quickly!
Was he reminded of his massive salary, and how he is
criticizing those who play for free!
Just a thought.

Alright, alright, yes it was poor dung, BUT, at least it was a contest unlike yet another one-sided massacre taking place in Munster, I know which game I would rather watch.

Dear Pat, in American football the players throw the ball, not kick. Same in rugby football (unless ur in the Irish team), Maybe u should follow soccer instead. They kick the ball. But wait sometimes they head the ball....maybe they should have a rule about how many headers they can do?
And then some teams play a short passing possession game...so maybe u should avoid that too.
Ausie rules that's the one for you....off you go

FT

Cavan 0-13 Fermanagh 0-11

First 25 minutes wasnt great but once Fermanagh got their first score it developed into a good game. Eugene Keatings point in the second half was class as was Martin Dunnes clinching score. Cavan kicked too many wides but apart from that they looks a good team and I'd say the match against Monaghan will be close.Cavan looked well organised and disciplined and have dangeroous forwrd considering how young their team is and with 3 Ulster u-21s in a row they could go on to have a good period over the next 7 or 8 years if handled properly

Cian Mackey was man of the match he had a brilliant game he was involved in everything and never seemed to waste possession.Tomas Corrigan done very well for Fermanagh in the second half.I'm surprised they didnt bring Barry Owens on earlier and launch a few ball on top of him in the square.

It wasn't Cavans fault it was a poor game, it was the fact that Fermanagh refused to kick the ball, played a 1 man full forward line and fouled cynically throughout. The late hits from Fermanagh were absolutely pathetic.

I quite like this Cavan team, some very tidy players in there. Dunne is a lovely footballer, so is Reilly who came on and number 10 was a good footballer as well.

Well said targetexpress.
And brend is right, its better to watch a poor game
that is tight with players trying, than a walkover
with the opposition playing to keep it respectable!

Pat was spot on, the way Fermanagh are playing football is shocking. A quick word on the amount of late hits they put in, there was a shoulder early on to the face of a Cavan man, the Fermanagh 14 put another very cynical late hit on the Cavan number 10 and there was another in the same play on a Cavan man. I don't mind a few fair shoulders off the ball but when you have a team consistently taking out men off the ball something should be done.

Lads, what do ye expect from Canavan? A great player but as dirty as the come and Fermanagh reflected that today - notably, moreso in the 2nd half when all else had failed.

Good win for us but we will need to improve to beat Monaghan.

Progress.

No need to bring Galway into this, it was happier times in gaelic football when teams could play open attractive football. I appreciate its win at all costs now, but no one could be proud of the way gaelic football is evolving, especially up north.

Well Lads, a huge collective sigh of relief from Tyrone that Cavan are not in the pot tomorrow :) What ya think?

I'd Say Donegal and Dublin are quaking in their Nike boots ( notice the product placement :) ) that Cavan are still in the championship.

I'm economically Fe$%ed as I have had hundreds of "one in a row" tee shirts printed.......would tipex work to change that to "two in a row"

Thanks be to James street that the oldest had her confirmation this year, so we (well me actually) can afford the trip to Clones. Its time to put the hang back in the hang sandwiches again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s best of luck tomorrow morning - hoping you avoid Louth - methinks the satnav may not work "across the border" :) :) :) and they may not find Healy

Lads its only a game !

Ahsure I've been saying the exact same thing the last two years , everyone will copy Donegal and now look what's happening terrible first half of football.

What went on in that game bears about as much relation to what Donegal do as a Lada to a Porsche. These are two Division 3 teams, what do you expect, free flowing football with lovely attacking moves & scores being taken from all over the field?

Pleased that Cavan won, at least they were trying to play a bit of football. Worrying thing for them was that they let a very limited Fermanagh side get within a couple of kicks of a result. Big improvement needed if they are to reach the final but they are in a good place at the moment.

Personally I didnt see much wrong with the game. I enjoyed it. It was hard and competitive. Much better than anything seem in other games barring the donegal/tyrone and Derry/Down. Now I may be biased but at least Ulster is competitive for most parts.

Fermanagh tried their best and considering the hype with the Cavan setup they did better than I expected. I have no problems with the hard hits. In football there is a fine line between great hit and late hit and fermanagh players were a bit slower but there wasnt malice from view.
