Donegal v Tyrone

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I reckon both sides will be well warned by their respective managers to be on their best behaviour. I don't think we will see the same level of discipline on display in Omagh earlier in the year. A sending off could be enough to give either side a vital edge and unbalance the match.

In saying that, I expect it to be a high Intensity match and there will be a good few bookings due to the level of tackling.
Hopefully the referee won't be too trigger happy with the bookings.

Here's to a cracker of a match.

Not that long to go now lads!! I'd say tonight will be one of nerves, butterflies and absolutely no sleep for most folk, looking forward to a good game tomorrow and just remember lads if you are worried about this match, the winners may have a chance of facing the mourne men that's the one you should really be worried about hey ;))

For the record, Up Donegal ;)

A chara, i agree with you 100%. For some unkonwn reason, the powers that be dont want to make GAA as big as it should be. It is unique and powerful product that has massive potential.

I agree with both of you on this.

I've often felt strong questions should be asked with regards the decision making at RTE, however my Issues with the direction of the State broadcaster are not just limited to the sports department.
While I don't think there is strictly an Anti-GAA agenda, I do think there is a stronger Soccer, Rugby and possibly horse racing agenda at an senior editorial level within RTE.

The GAA is the largest supported sporting body in the Ireland by a country mile, maybe it's billing should reflect this.

Tyrone have a big presence in the half back line and midfield and should be able to match up to Donegal in the important middle third. If Tyrone can get quick ball into Stephen O'Neill and make sure he is not isolated then I take Tyrone to win by 2 points.

I've said it before, and don't want to sound like a broken record. But, I can't see this being much of a spectacle, more of a borefest in which managerial defensive tactics will dictate the players like robots (Some of the best players in Ireland will be on show in Ballybofey today, let them play and express their true qualities!!!). I am happy to be proven wrong. I predict a tight tense draw.

Big day finally here!!

Everything set up for a great game, no wind, mild & rain clearing away. A big welcome to our friends from Tyrone to Ballybofey, I hope we see a great game & even for the team that loses the summer is far from over.

Last but no least I hope everyone travels safely & we'll have a post mortem here this evening!!

your match last week was a borefest, no fight or desire from one team will always make it that way. todays match will be intriguing regardless of the score.

Brend, I'd happily watch Eastenders but I have to scout our first round qualifier opponents. I had a feeling in my water in January that we would draw Donegal in the first round of the qualifiers, Galway have kept there side of the bargain, its now up to Donegal to keep theirs.

Eh does Niall Morgan have an ear infection or something poking around at his ears there?? So far so good, McFadden = class act.

What a cracker as expected, nicely balanced but Tyrone's missed chances could be crucial. Big hits but played at the right spirit, all to play for, bring it on.

Hey galling what was that you were saying about the worst province and London beating other teams......I give you Sligo! Tyrone must be seething here; EVERY decision is going Donegal's way and they are getting some very, very soft frees.
