Beatable enough team and I think Tyrone are the team to prove it. Looking forward to what will hopefully be a good game.

amazing what the team has achieved considering the amount of ordinary players in the team , only Murphy , McFadden and Lacey really stand out and even Murphys game is clearly crippled by the rigid structures that he must play within , I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he is held scoreless on Sunday like he was for the majority of the games hes played for Donegal over the last 2 years , fact

I agree with Murlo re Donegal having a lot of ordinary players but they have found a way to success and must be commended for what they have done. I do believe Tyrone will turn them over on Sunday though..interesting start to the championship!

I wonder if those people claiming that Donegal have ordinary players actually watch Gaelic Football? Or do they simply make lazy comments just to be heard.

Paul Durcan-outstanding All Star Goalkeeper

Neil McGee-Double All Star Full Back

Eamon McGee-Versatile man marker or half back

Karl Lacey-4 All Stars...

Frank McGlynn-excellent defender who scored massive points in major games last year

Neil Gallagher-Midfield exhibition versus a huge Cork team in the AI Semi

Mark McHugh-wonderful reader of the game

Anthony Thompson-super half back

Colm McFadden-top scorer in Ireland in 2012

Michael Murphy-enough said...

I could go on, Paddy McGrath, Rory Kavanagh, Patrick McBrearty etc

As good as any team in the country and full of brilliant players.

Abroad, Donegal had a lot of the players you mentioned above were members of the team humbled by Armagh in the Qualifiers in 2010. The majority of players back then were classed as average but when Jim came in he turned it all around and worked with what he had...and what a job he done.

Also abroad, self praise (Donegal senior football team) is no praise.

It's not self praise, I'm praising the abilities of the players, not myself. They deserve praise.

Ordinary players and teams don't win All Irelands, ordinary players get ordinary results.

Jim has helped these players unleash the potential and brilliance they exhibited last year.

Who's reffing it on Sunday? I hope he isn't whistle happy BUT does crack down on cynical fouls.

Jim has helped an ordinary panel achieve excellent results. The manager is the key to Donegal.

While I might quibble with the word "ordinary" I would agree that JMcG is key to what Donegal are all about. Truth be told the same could be said about Tyrone who only began to achieve when Harte took over.
A lot of conversation here tends to focus on players but to me this game will be won on the sideline, in the heads of the two best managers in the game today. When we talk about teams & squads I think we should include the managers in the conversation as they have more influence on what happens than anyone.

Maybe so but nobody beat them last year anyway!

The only player I seen mark Murphy well last year was Dan Gordan who marked him out of the Ulster Final. Granted Down are no great shakes at the minute, I felt that was the day Donegal showed they had the capacity to go on to win the AI. I can't believe anyone is questioning the the ability of their team. They were by far the best team in Ireland last year and have the potential to go on and be by far the best team again this year.
