Paddy McBrearty bitten by Dublin player?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

MesAmis,

Statement from Donegal player that a bite happened; confirmation from Donegal management that this was the case; medical report confirming bite; acknowledgement today from Paudric Duffy LIVE on RTE that a biting incident occured and regret that no one was held to account AND you say this all groundless and there are NO facts????? So are people making all this up just to annoy you and the Dublin GAA scene?

There are questions by the GAA and Dublin to answer here and they haven't been answered as of yet.

What questions do the GAA have to answer? The GAA are rightly furious they have rules regulations and procedures and in this case they were not adhered to, this was not a technicality this was a no show. Dublin are furious, Donegal are furious. The fact McBreaty didn't show as has already being stated 1000 times meant there was only going to be one outcome. So somehow the GAA is at fault for him not turning up? I just find it incredible that this simple fact is being ignored.

I didnt hear about the player apologizing after the game, where is this reported? If this is true then the procedure has been a total mockery.

That's a hell of a lot of facts. Seems outlandish that they couldn't prove it.

Makes your cloak and dagger theory about some GAA/dastardly southern media conspiracy against Donegal (because they're from Ulster) and in favour of Dublin (because we seem to wield untold power in the GAA) all the more believable.

Makes a lot of sense now. Thanks.

You are grasping at straws arock. Ask yourself, what could McBrearty have said at the hearing that would have made any difference to the outcome. He said all he had to say in the report & had nothing extra to add. Without independent evidence all the CHC had to go on was the report, anythng else was only talk. Blaming McBrearty for all this is only a fig leaf for those who still haven't answered JMcG's assertion that the Dublin doctor acknowledged a bite & that the Dublin player apologised after the game.

The reactions of the Dublin fans on this thread are appalling. No surprise Dublin have and always will be picked on by media and fans from all around the country. Bitter and sad.

Think Bernard Flynn put it rightly on radio today, "if that had happened to a meath player in my day the guy would be looking for his teeth on the pitch and drinking through a straw for a couple of months "

kinda begs the question why nothing was done at the time it happened on the pitch.

How can anyone say the media picked on Dublin? It was a Dublin player who was meant to have done something wrong but he was made out to be the victim

Ulsterman...

Agree 100%.... Disappointed at reaction of Dublin posters on here who appear to be deliberately missing the point in all of this to protect one of their own!

It's funny how things change. Dublin player bites a Donegal lad and Dublin posters on here blaming Donegal now for the way they handled this. Fact remains lads, Paddy WAS bitten. Dublin circle the wagons and deny, deny, deny. Dublin C.B. handled this shamefully, trying to shift the blame from the culprit to the victim. Fair play Jim, standing up for young player who the cccc and Dublin CB Hung out to dry. I'm not suprised how this has turned out. Was expecting it.

--------------

Can you please quote where ANY DCB member blamed McBrearty for this? The fact is that the so called victim didn't turn up at the appeal hearing. That in itself was a shameful act. You have to back your accusations up and face the man you have accused and whose name you have smeared. If he is guilty then send him down. If he is not then let him free but at least have the courage to face him. Failing to do so is showing contempt for the organisation and the disciplinary process. I suppose you're going to say that he was kidnapped by masked members of the DCB now. This all stinks of sour grapes now from Donegal and McGuinness trying to deflect attention away from his side's abysmal league campaign and relegation. He should have drawn a line under this instead of prolonging what has got to be a distraction for his players ahead of a huge game against Tyrone.

McBrearty should have had the courage to face his assailant....? Are you for real.... Don't talk about courage...there's no courage whatsoever in what the Dublin player was originally given a 3 match suspension for....none! That is as cowardly an act as it comes.....!

I feel that McBrearty would have had nothing to gain by traveling from west Donegal to Croke park. 8 hour travel plus time in Croke park, all unpaid. For what? To point out the player who he allegedly bit him, and then to be possibly rebuked again due to no witness to the event. That sort of a day out would leave someone disillusioned. Of course the Dublin player was within his rights to appeal, but he had not the same full day of travel and time to waste.

Indeed. Honourable teams like Meath and Dublin back then sorted everything between the white lines. No running to the media and whinging about refs and whatever.

Well Joxer by appealing the ban they are effectivley saying that the incident didnt happen and thus Paddy and Donegal were making this up. As I said before Fair play Jim for standing up for young Mc Brearty. We all know he was bitten, But the Dublin CB didnt want to stand tall and take the punishment. Shamefull.
