Tyrone v Kildare Semi-final

Kildare lack some very basic skills. Strong, athletic and full of running. Epitome of limited modern Gaelic footballers.

Thats some comment coming from a Down man.

Artisan, if we lack basic skills, why are we in a semi final when you're going to be in Div 2 next year? Typical down "aristocrats of Gaelic football" arrogance.

I like our work rate. Young lads are doing well so far. Tyrone are more savvy infront of goal and that will probably be the difference at the end.

When is a strike to the face NOT a red card? Gormley very very lucky.

Tyrone still haven't learned how to close the gaps in their defence. Game far too open for my liking. Not impressed with officials either. Kildare goal came from a blatant Tyrone sideline and the free against Carlin was a joke and yet another point came off it yet a few minutes later Cavanagh gets a kick on the hand whilst going to lift the ball and not a word about a free. In saying that Kildare probably deserve their half time lead as they have had a lot of ball and kicked a lot of wides

One thing I noticed in the first half:

Every time a Kildare player had a shot he got a dunt & ended up on the ground & it happened to Doyle early in the second half.

Ref has not taken any action.

Should Kildare start doing similar late hits ???????????

Two poor teams, hard to see an all Ireland semi final from these two.

Pure class from Stephen O'Neill. Kildare could do with a player like him, they just are lacking that bit of class in the foorward line and no amount fo shooting practice or training can create natural corner forwards

Poor game, Kildare just not up to the higher level, not good enough, Tyrone also poor, O'Neill only top class performer on the park.

The 13th Tyrone point scored by O'Neill was a thing of beauty. I don't think the Dublin v Mayo will as open of game.

Daith

I had the exact same thought as I watched our seconds go 9 points up against yis in Newry.

Enjoyable game with some great scores. S.O'NEILL is a joy to watch, he is such a special player with his 2 late points truly amazing scores. Paddyogalls comments coming from a clown who knows nothing about football.

No matter what promise Kildare show....never put a single euro on them to win anything, cos you will lose it!

The two Donnellys and Stevie played well. Sean didn't suit change into forward line.
Mc Curry is not at present up to county standard:I don't think anyone can argue against that after today; he has had a few chances now! Good bit of improvement required before final but thats much more promising than last weeks first half fare. Whats up with Joe Mc Mahon? Harte looked like he pulled up with a hammie. Some of Stevies scores were to drawer near end.

Enjoyable game which Tyrone deserved to win on their second half performance.

O'Neill's last two points were brilliant. I hope JMcG took plenty notes!!

Kildare versus Tyrone
Despite a good start from Tyrone, Kildare ended the half with the upper hand. Kildare did not start well and never really got going until after 20 mins. Paric O'Neill, Kildares no.9 stood out for me however with two well taken scores. The loss of Peter Harte looked ominous for our chances and with McMahon not playing it wasn't looking good.

Doyle was poor in the first part of the game but along with Kildare got much better towards half time. To be honest Tyrone were lucky to be going into the break one point down. Kildare for me looked impressive, fast and youthful, maybe McGeeney has found the right mix now.

Kildare look like a promising side, although having lost in the end. This was a tough match and it could have gone Kildare's way toward the end only for GOD himself Stephen O'Neill. Stevie was scoring points from impossible angles at the end, fantastic player. He kept the cool head when others around him looked to be panicking.
