If kildare are to win this game there going to have to really up there game tempo espescially if the team that turned out for the second half of the kerry game clicks from the off in this tie. Already when these teams met it was handy enough for tyrone. I,d say we will a strong squad put out by both teams. Should be good match...

Can't see anything here but a Tyrone win.

Not because Tyrone are unbeatable but more because Kildare seem to have lost their way.

I know you're fairly new on here & probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer but the way this works is as follows

1 This is a forum, a place where people can express their views.

2 This is a thread on the forum, a place where people can express their views.

3 This is a post on a thread on a forum, a place where people can express.................

The whole idea is that we can all give our opinions on all sorts of subjects, important or otherwise. Luckily enough for you, those opinions can be deluded, vacant & petty all at the same time. If we only posted on important things it would be a very very very quiet place.

In your case Donegal & JMcG must be very important, more important even than Tyrone & Mickey Harte, because you seem to spend a lot of time talking about them. Sad really.

WHAT is going on????? PJ Quinn and Carlin haven't played in the league yet, don't think we can afford to lose Joe to the half forward line....Mattie Donnelly wing back and Mc Curry still on. I can't figure it out. I have a bad feeling. Again the team completely disjointed.

Mickey needs Carlin and Quinn to get some game time, not only for their own good, but also because he has to see if he has an alternative to Aidan McCrory as he has been poor all spring.

As for the other positions, Mattie Donnelly has basically been playing at CHB in most games, so it is no surprise to see him at No.6. I'd expect to see Joe McMahon or Gormley standing there alongside him. Conor Clarke could easily play at wingback, allowing McMahon/Gormley to mark Tomas O'Connor (if selected).

McCurry will be in a 2 man FF line with O'Neill. Penrose, Mark Donnelly and (to a lesser extent) Peter Harte will be expected to support the midfield and half backs.

dermot carlin was tyrones best player last year and im glad to see him getting a run out im more concerned midfield once again not changed

Good to see Dermot Carlin back in for some game time before the donegal game, had a good year last year and is a very reliable player. Mattie Donnelly at 6 makes sense, when he was named at 10 he dropped back and sat at chb anyway to allow Joe some freddom and i can see the same thing happening on sunday just with the numbers on their backs reversed. Also Mattie is a very good stopper of runners through the middle which was an issue against Cork and Kerry.
Good to see McCurry kept in, hes a fantastic player and a hassle to mark and was unlucky against kerry but i think he will come good in the spaces of Croke Park.
Also very good to see Penrose starting, he has been very good of the bench this year and his working style along with Mark Donnellys will be a big help around midfield this year.
Peter Harte though must be running out of chances very soon and needs to get his act together and the same with colm cavanagh.

Good game in store here. I think it is going to go to the wire, and kildare may squeak it, maybe one point in the last minute or the like. I just feel that there is a certain amount of peaking at the right time here, Tyrone are already focused on playing us in the end of may. The league can be a fierce distraction during a time coming up to the championship.

I think Tyrone will win but I still think we have to look at our half forward line and in particular centre half forward. I would be tempted to play Sean Cavanagh there to give us more thrust from the half forward line. I dont think Peter Harte is able to carry out the Brian McGuigan role.

I have to be honest and say I think Kildare have a better chance here than most have been giving us. Tyrone have such a tough game to begin the championship with and that is obviously going to be on Hartes mind when picking his team. No disrespect to Offaly but Kildare should have an easier start. Also Kildare's recent dip in form has been to do with giving some returning and fringe players game time. We certainly didn't show our full hand in the previous game with Tyrone and Geezer seems determined to win this one against his old rivals. Whether that'll be enough I don't know but I certainly think we have a good chance at surprising a few people.

I think Kildare have already set their minds to championship football. Tyrone are going all out to win this league title and it's hard to see anyone stopping them.

Having not won a provincial title in a while, Kildare would want to be winning this league more than the other semi-finalists. Cork and Donegal won All-Irelands not too long after division 2 titles.

Cork won division 2 in '09 and the AI in '10.
Donegal won division 2 in '11 and the AI in '12.
Kildare won division 2 in '12 and who knows for this year.

Goes to show in someways success can lead to success. I remember Kerry winning a division 2 title in '02 over Laois and kick on from there that and the following years though it was '04 when we taste AI success again at that time.

Cork and Donegal had provincial success in and around their division 2 titles. With Kildare lack of silverware, they'd want to be winning this league.

Yeah legendzxix but then Armagh won Division 2 in 2010 and went out of the championship last year to Roscommon and just escaped Division 3 this year. I'm delighted Kildare stayed up in the top division and now we're in the semi-finals I hope we give it a right go but in the same way no-one will say we're destined for summer success if we win tomorrow our season isn't ruined if we lose. Obviously we want to win silverware but then who doesn't?

well pardon me i didnt realise you are only supposed to post nice things about donegal and just because you dont like what i post doesnt give you any right to lecture me. I could say the same thing about your self you seem to have a fascination with tyrone or more importantly knocking them at every opportunity. Im Just glad we have a manager who respects all competitions roll on 26th May

Utterly totally & completely untrue. Just show me where I have disrespected Tyrone or Mickey Harte. I haven't because I have nothing but respect for both. Indeed I started a thread on here a while back where I said that Tyrone were right in the mix to win Sam & I got landed on by Tyrone posters who said I was talking nonsense.

I have never disrespected counties or managers, only posters who do.

Rahilly,

Here is a link to that thread. If you can see disrespect there you are a better man than I.
