The football game was a cracker. The standard of handling and footpassing was excellent considering the conditions. Fantastic comeback by Brigid's - they never panicked and their greater experience told in the end. Hard luck Ballymun.

Really enjoyed those 2 games.

Of course dissapointed for the Leinster reps in the Football and my county men in the Hurling but no beefs with 2 deserving winners and congrats to St Thomas & St Brigets.

Was there myself and really enjoyed both games.

Two great wins for the West!

Sendings off in Hurling were harsh but St Thomas' were better team, semifinal replay stood to them.

For 2nd year in a row Football final was the main event of the day and was deservedly won by the better footballing team.

Only downside for me was a very small minority of foulmouthed Ballymun supporters who clearly had no idea about GAA and thought they were at a soccer match, one of them remarking when St Brigids took the lead "Ah but it's still 2:1.....!".

Well done to Thomas's and Bridget's - excellent results. The football game was great - really enjoyable. There is some celebrating coming on around Kiltoom id imagine.

I missed the hurling match but have to say that was the most enjoyable football match I have seen in ages.
Fair play to St Brigids they could have dropped the head after conceding those 2 goals and got an awful hiding but they plucked away and pulled it out of the bag(and nearly threw it away too!)

Curran is just a lunatic, he would do the same if it was Junior B game. Plays with more passion than most, just loses the run of himself at times. Great article on him in the Indo a few weeks ago, until he suffered a back injury he was the counties first choice full forward.

I think that's just the way he is & I am glad that there is room for characters like him in the game. Not really in the Cluxton mould I grant you & I wouldn't necessarily want to spend a whole evening with him, but what the hell, good luck to him.

Curran is a character - there are too many robotic players and teams in sport today.

Have to say Cake did nothing stupid during the gane on Sunday. Beaten for the first goal he fairly dealt with any other high lob into his square.

Now he ran 100 yards to offer to take a lineball, which Frankie underhit, but made no bones when Frankie indicated it was his & Cake trotted back to his post. He might well have done better with it.

Now as an old keeper also known to have a bit to say for myself (only lasted 18 years compared to 26 for Cake) I might be biased !!! But he does add to the entertainment and he is still a decent keeper..............
