You don't think Tyrone have leaders on the pitch yet you name 4!

True enough Muckross, I mean, who can forget Canavans man of the match performance in the 2008 AI final!

Ah now Brend, a died in the wool traditional GAA an like yourself would know that that was a back door All Ireland and therefore doesn't count.
Canavan probably didn't play out of embarrasment at the thought of winning an All Ireland in such an unmanly way!!!

lol

Tyrone have no leaders only Sean Cavanagh, Joe McMahon, Stephen o'neill and Conor Gormley. Thats overkill on the leader front

Clearly I left out words in the rush to post by 22:00. I will re-write.

The current Tyrone team has no out & out leaders, with only a few senior players like Sean Cavanagh, Joe McMahon, Stephen O'Neill and maybe Conor Gormley giving the Slightest Impression of being able to take on such a mantle.
When I say leaders, I refer to the Brian Dooher type of player that could take a game by the scruff of the neck when the team maybe aren't firing on all cylinders. The type of player that plays well even when the rest are having a bad day, and can bring the rest to life by showing how its done. I'm not saying that the new players won't develope into men of such stature in the future, but simply that they currently are not at that level right now.
For that reason, Tyrone will not be in the running for an All Ireland this year. All Ireland Quarter final or Semi final at best.

While having 4 players with some leadership qualities might look great, have a look at some of the other top sides and you will see that most of them can list nearly twice as many estabished and proven quality players.

With regards my heritage cacsmckilly, I was born in Derry and currently live and work in Derry City ( Cityside ). My parents are from Tyrone and Donegal respectively.

With regards Derry this year, Brian McIver has got the ball rolling with them and will no doubt improve the team from last season. Derry have often been over reliant on the Bradleys, It's been a breath of fresh air to see them performing so well again without the Bradleys this year. They won't be challenging for an Ulster Title this season, but look like they will push for promotion to Division 1. Although It's a very competitive division 2 with Westmeath and Laois going full tilt.

I'm a little more optimistic about Mayo this year, I think they will be in with a shout.

Dublin or donegal, likely dublin.
Cork just never seem to want it bad enough, we all know what to expect from Mayo in a final. Kildare no chance and Kerry/Tyrone will be taken by a big team at some point i expect.

Aye well I was trying to answer two posts and went out of my way to get the point across clearly this time. I don't have a dislike to Tyrone by any means, but I do call it as i see it.

2 teams, Dublin and Donegal, hoping they meet in the Final. At the moment Dublin are flying, only worry would be that they are peaking a bit early.

Who is this one man you are referring to?

Why Michael Murphy of course!

Would this be the same Michael Murphy that was fairly average last year (albeit he had a stormer in the final) when Donegal won the All-Ireland? Fairly sure he wasnt nominated for player of the year unlike 3 other players on the panel...Bit ridiculous calling Donegal a one man team do you not think? Thats a bit like saying Dublin are a one man team because Bernard Brogan has done most of their scoring...

Way to early to be on about this only 3 teams pure rubbish ,, you will have cork , kerry, dublin , kildare , donegal , tyrone , mayo , and few more teams will be well able beat one of the above teams to,, dublin are flying at the moment and will take some beating and will be favts to win but sept is long way away and there will be plenty of shocks to come

I am a huge fan of all things Kerry, but if you saw what I saw last Sunday you wouldn't hold that opinion.

It will take a turnaround of biblical proportions to sort them out.

Three teams is right but they are Mayo, Donegal and Dublin.

Cork don't have a chance. A comparison can be made between Munster football and Scottish football. Kerry are finished, so Cork have no competition. Winning Munster doesn't stand to Cork in the All-Ireland series, like winning the SPL doesn't stand to Celtic in the Champions League, because they have no competition without Rangers.

Good teams win an All-Ireland, great teams win two. Are Donegal and Dublin great teams? I don't think so. Yes they are very good teams compared to everyone else but they are not like the great teams of old, such as Galway under O'Mahony and Tyrone in the 00's. Dublin are looking particularly strong at the moment but can they keep it up when teams catch up on their fitness?

That leaves Mayo. It's clear we have the most talented footballers in Ireland but can we finally do it? I think we can. Horan will have our boys ready in September without a doubt. If I was a betting man, I'd win my money off Mayo.

No they won't because it's clear they don't have the most talented footballers in Ireland.

You know a lot about Mayo football so I'd say you're from somewhere in Connacht? You must be fairly jealous that our B team would win the Connacht. Is that why you constantly post anti-Mayo rubbish on this?

Dublin seem odds on at minute, but i just wouldn't write off Donegal just yet, mayo like always might flatter to deceive,Kerry will get going eventually, cork it is probably the last chance for IMO the most underachieving team of last six years,
As for my own county, think we might reach Leinster final for probably a meeting with dub, form does tend to go out window so I'd expect a closer game than might be expected, but still not winning unfortunately,
So for me ill go for cork, last chance for all ire success

I agree that Mayo will be a strong contender later in the year, but disagree about your views on Cork.
I also disagree about Donegal and Dublin not being great teams, I think both have the potential to be great teams. I think it will be either Donegal or Dublin that lifts Sam in 2013.
