Enolagay, well said,
I honestly think your post is more representative of Tyrone people, gaa people in particular, than those trying to divert and muddy the waters with blatant untruths,
Well said

I concur

Geoff - regardless of who, what, where, how or why the footage was released, it was, and it clearly shows what happened. Judging by your argument, had Cookstown lost the game, this would have been released as another means of gloating by the victorious team. What a pile of sh1te. There is absolutely no place for spiting on someone else in any society or sport, nevermind the GAA. The player/culprit deserves to be severely punished for what he did and should be man enough to face the music himself rather than other players/supporters trying to defend his actions. To see Tyrone people trying to defend and deflect this is very very disappointing.

great to see honest opinion

The only people on here that are ignorant are those who honestly believe that it wasn't a Finuge player/representative who has released this footage with some sort of hidden agenda.

Ah yes, our old friend the "hidden agenda", last refuge of the witless & clueless.

Where is your proof? even if it was, it doesn't take away from the fact that a player spat on another player

You would be no stranger to hidden agendas geoff...

Enolagay, a very refreshing honest stance on the subject. Top man.
What I find disappointing is that this wasnt the status quo across the thread from the beginning... If this was a mayo man I would genuinely be disgusted at his behaviour, I am stunned that people are trying so hard to find some justification for this act. This fella has let tyrone down.

If they are at it they seem happy enough with what they are getting. They're both probably still wearing it as a badge of honour.
Nevermind player burnout cos player dehydration will be the next big issue at this rate.

I reviewed the video clip which shows (#22) spitting on Paul Galvin as he runs by from behind. I think his actions were cowardly and despicable. I wonder why there was no official GAA action taken against him?
He didn't have the guts to face Galvin. Both himself and "Mugsy" come out of this looking less than honourable. He carried out a coward's act and then Mulligan didn't have the courage to either condemn the incident or stay out of it. I have four kids playing Gaelic football, the oldest being 16.They are enjoying football now because it hasn't turned ugly like this yet but I'm not sure if I would want them to keep playing into higher age groups when I see this horrible, hostile, malicious atmosphere in football. This would not be tolerated in soccer or rugby. It's a shame.

Its funny nobody is condemning the clip MichaelO has posted twice and the spitting incident not including a team from Ulster is of much less interest to notable posters here. Actually no its not funny at all, it's tragic.

There a big difference. MIchaelO's is two going at it face to face the other is an act of cowardice.

I looked at that video too. I just had another look. I can't say for sure from the video if there was spitting there. Is the player saying there was?

There you go then if you are going to spit at someone do it face to face and as many times as you want as this isn't as bad as spitting from side-on.

In my eyes all spitting is wrong and disgraceful.

As I said above, I can't say for sure if the Finuge official spat at a player. However, he should not have been on the field. there should be no managers, selectors, water boys or anyone else besides players on the pitch. Excepting medics when they are needed.

Unfortunately the game is not straight. Stereotypes and prejudice prevail as always.

An example that occurred to me was if a Kerry legend punches someone and knocks him out he's a "Rogue"...a Northerner doing the same thing is a "Thug".
If you want me to supply the names I can but most of you should be able to work it out.

Tom1916 I'm not condoning the two lads going at it I'm just saying there's a difference.
Same as there is a difference between two lads going toe to toe punching the heads off each other and a fella getting clocked from behind.
None are acceptable but there is a difference. Doesn't mean it's not disgraceful and doesn't warrant strong punishment.
