I was checking the odds for tonights games, is there a reason why kildare are 1/4 to beat longford?? woulda thought the game would be closer than the odds suggest

Weight of money.

Kildare -2 at 6/5 with William Hill was too tempting for me to pass up. We're -3 at 10/11 now. Longford deserve respect bit I am hopeful that this Kildare team will have a bit too much in the end.

Starting to wonder is there any point to this year's U21 Champ.., they should just hand it over to Kildare. No real point us Derry, Cavan and so on competing. After all they are so ''FIT''. Congrats in advance Kildare on your Leinster and all-Ireland win

Unless you have seen both teams in action you can't really make that assertion. Apologies if you have. This Longford team beat the hot favourites for the AI (11/10 before a ball was kicked) so they can obviously play a bit of football. They also beat this same Kildare minor team 3 years ago so have the form in the book. Longford were something like 6/1 to beat Dublin so the bookies can get it wrong too. Their price does seem generous.

I think you'll find he was having a bit of banter.

They said that about Cork in 2011. About Dublin another year. Long way to go yet.

Longford are the form team for tonight.

They beat the All Irl Favs, Dublin, and won well at that. They won the Leinster Minor of 2010, beating Kildare along the way and were in the Final with most of these players in 2011, so the WUMS from Donegal & WH must try harder !!!!.

Kildare have won one U21 All Ireland way back in the 60s yet the confidence among some Kildare fans is huge. TBH Longford's odds are very tasty they were good enough to beat Dublin in Dublin and if they perform on the night they will beat Kildare.

That and the fact we're really, really fit. Longford on the other hand were only fit for the first 20 minutes of their semi final, and then again for a while at the end...

Don't think the confidence is huge to be honest, although admittedly I am slightly biased.

Looking at how we played against Meath, in the second half especially, and against Laois two weeks ago, there is definitely some talent in this team.

Hopefully we see the full extent of that tonight.

If we do, then the lads will give themselves a great chance of lifting a provincial title.

If we don't, then hopefully it's not down to our own mistakes but instead because Longford happen to be the better team.

Both sides will have arguments for being favourites tonight, and whoever comes out with the win will have done it the hard way and it will be fully deserved.

fancy a shock for kildare frans tonight. Think Lonford will win by 2 -3 points. Never have seen so much hype sorrounding an U21 team. Longford at 4/1 odds are in the perfect position.

Anywhere online that has updates on this? The usual sites don't have anything up, probably because Dublin are not in it!

Game over in Portlaoise. The only team that can beat Kildare to the All-Ireland is themselves.
