This years Galway team are as good as the 2011 All Ireland winning team however i feel the opposition is better this time. Saying that Galway be will expecting to beat Roscommon and leinster champions.

Favouritism and Kildare are uneasy bedfellows.

The Ulster final could be a cracker. Kildare will surely win Leinster although I'd love a bit of success for Longford.

Can somebody please tell me how Galway so often have a very strong u21 team?

Believe me we don't have a good U-21 team every year. After winning the 2005 U-21 All-Ireland the Galway U-21's went 5 years from 2006 to 2010 without even winning a game in Connacht. Then in 2011 they won the All-Ireland again. Probably more accurate to say when Galway have an average team they can be pretty bad but when they have a good team they can be very very good.

Jack_Goff what's wrong with a bit of success for Kildare? Are you of the same mind as Royaldunne, anyone but Kildare?

Ulster is impossible to call, Tyrone and Monaghan are both out already, two very strong teams, just shows you how high the standard up here is. Longford v Kildare is also hard to call, Kildare putting up massive scores, but would they have beaten the Dubs like Longford did? Would love to see Longford shade it. Galway beat a strong Mayo team, you'd reckon they'd win Connacht, but then Roscommon have a lot of players from last years team which contested an AI final. So it's impossible to call any of these three provinces really, but here goes.

Cavan
Galway
Cork
Kildare

In fairness Connacht underage football has been strong for the last decade. For example the last time Galway lost Connacht U21 final they were beaten by a side (Mayo) that went on to win the All Ireland.

What you saw last week was probably a low scoring game with both defences on top. Between O'Shea,O'Connor,Regan (all senior level players) only managed 0-2 from play that alone tells me the difficult task facing Roscommon.

Jasus would you get a grip will ya,
I think most neutrals would love to see longford winning, mainly because it's longford. If as i expect it to be kildare then fair play to them, i don't as i said many many times before get involved in slaging of underage teams, and despite your attempt to drag me into one, i will not raise to the bait best of luck to both sets of 21 s

If I was a betting man and I am, I'd have a few quid on Galway for the All Ireland.

I wouldn't be so sure. Down and Derry are both strong opposition and in u21 football anything can happen. Don't be surprised to see Down or Derry making the final, if not both.

Nearly all of our 2011 winning minors were minor last year so 2014 could be our best bet. As for the Dubs "dream team", we'll be fine if we meet them cos they'll choke like they always do. It getting past Cork and Kerry in Munster is always our biggest challenge.

Can see it being a great contest tomorrow night. Huge amount of players on both sides who played each other at minor three years ago. Should be tight and I can really see Longford upsetting Kildare's rhythm. Might not be pretty but hopefully we'll have enough.

See a lot of people talking up Galway's chances for Connaught and the All Ireland. I was at the Galway v Mayo game in Tuam and it was woeful stuff. Was a bad day but even allowing for that the level of skill on display from both teams was pathetic. Shane Walsh from Galway was very good but Galway as a team were poor. Mayo were even worse and deserved to loose the game. Galway may win Connaught but don't have chance of winning the all ireland.

Galway won the game that's all that matters. Against what everyone said beforehand was a very good Mayo side. Not every game is going to be a high scoring affair and this one developed into a dour defensive battle in very windy conditions. In the previous game Galway hit 1-20 against Sligo. Every game is different.
