Big win for Donegal. I must expect I didn't see that one coming.

Young McBrearty had a big game by all accounts.

Didn't see Donegal beating Tyrone either. I've heard Tyrone folk going on about this conveyor belt of talent in their county? Where is it? Tyrone won minor AI's in 2008 and 2010, these teams haven't been able to continue their success up through to u21 level it seems.

I've heard that expression many times, but not from Tyrone people. Most Tyrone people would be very worried about our fall off at U21 level. We had All Ireland minor winning sides in 2001, 2004, 2008 & 2010, yet not one of them managed to win even an Ulster title in their final year at U21. That is really disappointing, especially when you consider that we won 4 successive Ulster U21 titles before our 2003 AI senior breakthrough..

Good win for Kildare. The final with Longford should be a great contest!

The worst performance i have seen from Tyrone in many years. Munroe will probably resign after 3 very disappointing years in charge with no silverware at all. His team selection, subs and positional changes tonight were very questionable.

Well done to Donegal last night, a thoroughly deserved victory by all accounts. To echo what ThomasClarke says, the U21 grade has been an unmitigated failure for Tyrone over the past few years. As far as I'm concerned this grade is an important bridge from minor to senior and has been negelected by the County Board for too long (effectivley since the seniors started winning AI's) to the point where we are now being overtaken by Cavan, Monaghan and Down, and that could have long term implications for the county. Time to wake up and smell the coffee and start putting in the resources to get these lads up to the standard we expect from our underage footballers.

That would be dissapointing, winning 4 All Ireland Minor titles and not transferring that to U21 but as we all know that happens at club level too. A good minor teams guarantees nothing for the future at senior level. Derry are another case in point as they have had relatively good success at minor level but couldn't transfer that to U21 or senior success. When lads are playing minor most are still living at home and football is still a big part of their life but when lads head off to college or work some will lose the focus on football and some never play again. If you have a good U21 side then thats a sign of a promising senior side.

Great result for Donegal last night as although they have some very good footballers the general consensus was that Tyrone would be overall too good especially on home turf. Fair play to Maxi and the team and hope you can push on and win Ulster like we did in 2010.

We were in the U21 AI final in 2003 if I remember right? Though that is pretty much irrelevant now..

Cue the accusations that Kildare are arrogant and said we were going to win everything even though neither of these posters is from the county.

Very disappointed with our under 21 yet again , McBrearty stood out for Donegal took his points well, Tyrone on the other hand had no answers our minor football teams seem to evaporate when they step up to under 21 level I think the last decent under 21s we had was 2003 time for a rethink otherwise no All Ireland senior football winners in foreseeable future . Well done Donegal .
