would you look at all the brown nosing going on between the Dublin and Kildare lads! Kildare were the weakest of the 4 semi finalists on show last Saturday in Tullamore!
Must be a very poor standard in Leinster so.
Maybe Kildare should look to join one of the other provincial tournaments like the Galway or Antrim hurlers have?
Lads, I think we'll have to go easy on the Leinster lads. The poor creatures have a terrible record in the U-21 championship. 7 titles in 50 years of competition is an embarrassing return from them. And that includes Kildare's one and only title back in 1965. Even the minnows of Mayo and Galway have both won more titles than the high and mighty Dubs.
1372391 Look it best of luck to both sides in the final. I hope Galway win. Very sound folk and I'd like to see them do it and convert it to senior level also as Galway have been missed for the last number of years.
In my mind Kildare and Dublin were and are both a lot stronger. What am I basing this on? Well first the semi final... Kildare were better on the in general and yes lost, ok. That happens sometimes and you'd rather it not at this stage but it did. Dublin were clearly just caught on the hop against Longford. Secondly, look at how many of the lads from both Kildare and Dublin are currently taking up starting places in their senior teams. Dublin the strongest in the country and Kildare well top 5,6 I suppose. Any Cork, Donegal, Tyrone, Mayo, Kerry lads involved with their seniors (3 plus...)? and for the others Galway, Cavan, etc... any featuring there? All be it at a completely different level to those at initially the top 3 and to a lesser extent top 5,6.
Dublin are way a head lads, so stop being so naive to think other wise.
Galway have at least 3 of the panel on the seniors. Flynn and O'Cuarraion have been on the seniors since they won this competition in 2011. Shane Walsh (who destroyed these so-called superior opposition) is also in there. Daithi Burke could easily be on either senior panel in Galway. Young Shaughnessy from Ballinasloe will probably be called in after the final if he hasn't been already.
Going by your logic there is no need to play out the competition, each county should just submit there panels and a group of experts can just pick who is the best and give them the trophy!!!!
